It may not be the most righteous category for this matter, but since dieting is a national epidemic, I was pretty sure that there is going to probably be some guys or girls here, who have gone on any diets at all. In case you have any knowledge whatsoever please share.

I am particularly confused on what weight loss item to order, since there are so many choices in the market. The most recent hypes on Oprah similar to hoodia gordonii or acai berry don't make this matter any more straightforward. I truly don't know where to start, should I get an exact diet program, routine of exercises...All I have come to realize is that a modification is needed. And this modification needs to take place now.

LOL loving the title I've done a diet thing here and there, but really, truly, honestly: DIETS DON'T WORK. You need to change your lifestyle. The purpose of a "diet" is to lose weight quickly and not stay on the diet permanently. Then guess what happens... everything you worked for to lose comes right back!

Look at Oprah as you mentioned... She's the diet QUEEN! she has discussed and used almost every diet fad out there. How well has that worked out for her? She yo-yo's constantly....

Really the best thing you can do for yourself is watch your food portions and eat more healthy greens and fiber - those are the big missing links in most people's food choices today (tons of meat, tons of fat, HUGE portions). Also, start a healthy exercise regime, join a gym, go for a jog.. if you don't exercise much, start slow and build yourself up, adding seconds or minutes and intensity to your workout every day.. you will be so proud of yourself when you see the improvements you've made.

It needs to be a lifestyle change... this is a forever thing if you want to lose the weight, keep the weight off, and maintain a healthy body.

I completely agree with KMonte85. Its better to chose the right food, eat 15-20% calories below maintenance level and exercise, both weight and aerobics regularly.

i agree after years of yoyo dieting - i finally stopped, and started living right! i take my dog for a walk daily, do yoga most days and try and eat the recommended fruit and veges every day. i have lost six kgs which is a stone in the old weight and feel really good, for example for dinner i will have a piece of meat the size of my palm and a big big salad, and yoghurt for dessert. i dont have diet anything ie dressings etc as i find them unsatisfying - anyway good luck.

You just do one thing. Please hire one health coach and complete with your dieting schedule as per your coach instruction. Then you see the perfect result.
