Okay ladies. I just want to stress how crucial water is in your diet while you are trying to lose weight! I really don't think that most women take that seriously enough.

Switching to diet sodas and juice just won't cut it. If you really want to lose weight, you need to take the whole "drink 8 glasses a day" saying seriously. Diet drinks usually contain sodium which dehydrates you and can even make you hungrier then you normally would be. Not to mention that they may be low in one thing, but they haven't completely gotten rid of all the bad stuff.

I personally went on a diet a few years ago. I started eating healthy. I followed a strict diet. I switched to diet drinks. But I wasn't really seeing results. One thing the diet book kept telling me was "drink lots of water". I knew I wasn't taking that part too seriously. So, I cut out diet drinks completely and only drank water, tea, and skim milk on occassion. I almost immediately started to see results! I am telling you... water is sooooo important to your weight and health!

    Hi Jessica!
I have to totally agree with you that water is important period. I basically did the same thing as you, I was dieting and noticed I wasn't getting the results I thought I should be so after talking with several people I totally cut out diet sodas and increased my water intake and immediately I began to see results. Thanks for the post because people learn more from others experiences and we all need to be reminded from time to time the importance of incorporating water into our daily diet whether were trying to lose weight or not.

i've heard that you have to drink atleast 64oz of water per day and thats what i have been trying to do. im not a fan of soda, im more of a milk and juice person. Water is also a cleanser and keeps the skin looking healthy!

I was online looking for how much water I should drink a day and I found a chart that says I should drink around 160oz of water a day according to my weight and activity levels, another article says you should divide your weight (in pounds) by two and thats the amount of water you should drink each day, others say it does not matter your age or weight you should drink at least eight-8 ounce glasses of water if more thats better. But then there are stories about people that die from drinking too much water. Im drinking about 120oz a day I do cardio for 1 hour 6 days a week I also live in a extremely hot and humid country (in the summer it can get up to 150) so should I drink more water to account for that as well????? Just some questions I have if anyone can help me out I would be very thankful

    Thumbs up i agree

I agree.. water makes such a difference! I had a baby last year and I am still trying to lost the weight, and I need to get back to drinking more water. But a couple years ago, I cut out all diet soda and other drinks like that, and stuck to water, 100% fruit juice, and one coffee a day (morning). I just immediately saw results, and it was amazing!!! I carried a water bottle with my always, just stuck one in the car or my bag, and when I got home or sat at my desk, I would fill a large glass next to me. That way, I was reminded to drink it. The water helps keep you from munching on things, gives you a full feeling without calories. And the plus is that it energizes you, makes you feel more healthy in and out, and gives you great skin!!

I would point out, though, that it's best not to use water to substitute proper meals, that won't work, because you'll gorge yourself later. Just sip it throughout the day, but don't forget proper meals to keep your body working to lose weight.
