Well for a week and a half now my bf and I have been going to the gym. we spend about 2 hrs a night there working out. I've lost 4lbs thus far (which could just be normal weight change) but the big difference is how I feel. I have alot more energy and feel alot happier. I'm simply amazed by the way my skin looks. The acne issue I've had for a yr as just vanished. I dont even wear much more than eye liner now. My bf way of explaining it is its like my face is glowing (and no I'm not prego). But the huge thing is my previous issue I've told you all about. My women issue with none stop bleeding. It flared back up this month and within 4 days of working out, it stopped.

of course all of us want to go to the gym and within a week be at our goal weight. Most of the time the slow weigh loss defeats us. the differences I've felt so far is motivating me more than anything. Its funny because I feel smaller. I know I'm not but I feel like 50lbs smaller. It's great.

I wish I would have started this sooner. I really dont have a goal of my wieght or size I wanna be as long as I keep feeling good. I think thats what gonna keep me going.

I just wanted to share the happy news

The hard part is, once you become lazy again, it is hard to drag yourself back there. So....don't allow it.

    Keep it up, girl!

I use to have a problem with extended periods when my diet was unhealthy and I wasn't exercising. I had to be put on iron and almost had to have a blood transfusion from how heavy and long lasting my periods were. The doctor even discussed hysterectomy as an option to get the bleeding under control. Mind you, I was 29 at the time!

I got my act together started dieting and exercising and began losing weight, within a couple months my period began going back to normal, and now a couple years later its a 3 day, on time, no hassle type "woman issue".

The doctor explained to me that we carry hormones in fat stores, sometimes hormones can go all out of wack when we're not taking care of ourselves. Sometimes they start your period and don't know how to stop and sometimes they stop your period and don't know how to start back up again.

Healthy diet and exercise keeps all your hormones and everything else balanced.

    Good for you!!!!!!

Ooops! HD, I started my workouts 2 weeks ago. It has been a month without Aunt Flo. Don't you think my metabolism is re-adjusting, you know, more physical activities, better diet and more water - everything new?

I think it can absolutely have an effect on aunt flow. The power of diet and exercise, or the impact of consuming junk and lack of movement... are INCREDDIBLE factors on every single process of our bodies.

If there is a possiblity of pregnancy you'll have to consider that, but if not... I wouldn't worry about cycle issues in the first couple months of a major lifestyle change. Whether its stress, eating bad, eating better, starting a new fitness program, haulting one...etc.. any of that can throw it off for a bit.

The more regular your diet is, the more consistant your exercise patterns are, the more your body should adapt to those new changes and generally as long as you are consuming a healthy amount of food... everything in your body including your period should start behaving normal, or better than they've ever been.

Pregnancy is out of the equation as of now, so ruling that out, like you said, the lifestyle, diet, physical activity and metabolism change might have put Aunt Flo to a "no visitation" season for now.

    Thanks for reassuring, HD.

ya know ladies, I agree with aunt flo being part of the change. Back a few months ago I had the same extended period issue and I started walking and it would stop my period. then the problem would come back because I would stop walking. We're working on 2 weeks now and aunt flow is still MIA. I know it doesn't change the fact that I have a cyst that I need to check up on but I know my body has a better chance of resolving it if I'm healthy. My only worry now is that I just got another job. I start next week. This kills mine and my Bf's work out schedule. 4 days of the week I'll have to do a gym run by myself. Part of me loving going is it give him and I one more thing to share together but I promise you it wont stop me. I just hope I dont get lazy on those days when he's not pushin me.
