Hi there! It's nice to join a forum that has so many helping hands from what I can see.
First of all, I'm 19 years old.. and I want to loose weight. I'm not the heaviest, but I'm definetely the most I've ever been in my life. I'm 145 lbs, but gained about 25 lbs during my senior year of highschool. Yuck! People asked me if I was pregnant! I've been sticking to my new years resolution for 2007. I love to go to the gym and to consume plenty of healthy things such as vegetables, fruits, wheat, skim milk, tons of water, and etc..But I seem to be at a loss when it comes to the main portions of my meals. I'm definetely a big fan of breakfast as well.. but I always tend to eat just cereal or oatmeal. Is there anything else I can eat thats healthy for me and will fill me up until lunch time? I don't like eggs one bit! Also, I am not a vegetarian and I do enjoy meat.. I just try to go for the leaner kinds. I am a big fan of chicken, but I do not like fish at all. I don't want to end up eating chicken every night. Am I defeated when it comes to healthier things to eat at the beginning and end of my day? Any recipes, ideas, or just comments will be very helpful. Thankyou. |

Portion control is definitely the key! You are what you eat. I've found that watching my carb intake has helped me a great deal. And when you do eat carbs, eat them with a protein. Eat heavier meals earlier in the day. Also, I was thinking about the cereal diet that Special K and Shredded Wheat put out where you eat cereal w/milk for breakfast and lunch (fruits and veggies too) then have a sensible dinner. But the portions of cereal they recommend are small. I'm considering that one-I don't know! Isn't it hard? I've struggled with getting some extra pounds off lately too, and the thing that's hard for me is to find the motivation. Once you have it set in your head that you're going to go for it and lose weight and you have a good motivator, then it's great-but I'm still searching for that motivator! Good luck!
