I have a friend who keeps on inviting me to try belly dancing. She has been doing it for quite some time now and I can see a difference in her belly. The belly dancing class is quite expensive that's I have been having second thoughts of joining her and I am also in doubt if it actually works for me. What if not? I'd be wasting my money if will not work for me.

Is belly dancing for everyone and is it really effective in reducing your fat belly?

    Hi shaira,
My sister did belly dancing. But she used a home video since enrolling in a class really is expensive. She told me its a great work out not only that it's really fun. You can buy belly dancing dvds and try it out. Its much cheaper compared with enrolling in a class.

Eventually, getting rit of your 'fat belly' is a matter of burning fat, which means you need to create a calorie deficit.

It's not as simple as just eating less and less, because the body is too intelligent for that and will adjust its metabolic rate...

But anyway, exercise is always an important factor.

And basically, any exercise will do. The thing is that you need to keep up with it. And that means that it helps if you actually like what you do.

I'm not a belly dancer at all. However, I do like to do that 'zumba' thing every now and then. I think it's fun, and I can put a lot of intensity in it.

But because it's fun, I can go on and on and on.

    And that's the key...

So why don't you just try it out? Don't they allow you to go for free once or something, so you can see if you like it?

If not, then don't do it.

If you do like it and it seems like it gives you good exercise and think it's worth the investment, heck, go for it!

Don't think of it as wasting money... Think of it as 'investing in your belly'... or something like that ;-)
