Do not take a diet pill, even if it is "breastfeeding safe". Breastfeeding is one way that helps many women shed their baby weight. So while giving your baby the best nutrients possible, you can also lose some weight!
Every person is different, but I would not set a weight goal based on months. Say to yourself "I'm going to lose 20-25 lbs", and do it. Don't say "I will lose it in 6 months". The key is eating RIGHT, eating things that are easily digestible, drinking plenty of water, get RID of sugars from your diet altogether. This, in combination with at least 3-4 days a week of 30-60 minutes of high intensity cardio and you'll be dropping those baby lbs in no time.
Putting a time frame on a weight loss goal can be very motivating but it can also be very disappointing. I use a time frame such as...
I am going back home to my family doctor in two months. I want them to say "Wow, she's 170 pounds!"
Which means I need to lose 20 pounds in two months. Will it kill me if I don't? No. But I want to.
If you're someone who can't handle being disappointed, don't bother with a time frame.
How fast you lose this weight depends on your current weight, height, what you eat, and how intense your exercise is. It could be 3 months, or it could be 6 months. I would focus on doing as much exercise as you can and eating healthy.
