    I am so frusturated!

So here is my story. In Novemeber I weighed about 158, and them dropped down to 152, but it wasn;t the weight that suprised me, it was all of the fat went off of my body. I was eating very minimally and drinking a lot of alcohol, and had just got back on some medicene for my autoimmune disease (Plaquenil). I felt really good, but didn't really understand why it was happening. Everyone started to tell me I looked so good that I stopped eating very much at all and by February I was still only at 148 but all of the fat had disappeared. I had begun exercising 40 min a day for 4-5 days, cyclying, walking, yoga, pilates, swimming. I started to experience some alarming symptoms such as anxiety, tingling and numbness, weakness, sallow skin and my face looked really sunken in. I went to the doctor thinking perhaps it was a thyroid problem or vitamin deficency and it was neither. She said everything was normal. But I knew something wasn't right so I started to eat more often, protein, little to no carbs, drinking a ton of water, not drinking, veggies and fruit, taking vitamins, getting enough sleep. I have continued my exercise program but switched over to this program called the Brazilian Butt lift workout, and all of the sudden my actual fat is back. I took my measurements in January and all are basically the same with an inch lost in waist and in thighs, but there is real fat back on my body. And my clothes are fitting tighter! The scale says I weigh 145.
Can someone tell me what is going on? Is my body holding on to everthing I put in it because I wasn't eating very much for awahile? Should I stop the resistance program, up my cardio, eat more, eat less? I am so confused and totally distressed. Is it my hormones? Why would I be putting actual fat if I exercise so much? PLEASE HELP!!!

Well, starving yourself is never good. I'm sure that's where all the bad symptoms were coming from.
More than likely, now that you're being healthy, you're probably actually gaining muscle because your body actually have the nutrients to build it. Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll tone up. My guess is that you never really lost the fat to begin with, it was probably muscle but you just looked skinnier. When your body is starving, it basically eats itself by burning what you have to keep going. And it doesn't burn the junk if you're not eating healthy and sleeping, etc. It takes the good stuff because it needs it. It doesn't need the fat so much.

Just keep healthy, keep alcohol to a minimum, eat a balanced diet and stay active.

I appreciate your insight. It makes perfect sense that my body is building muslce now that I am feeding it. Thanks!

    I have the same problem..

I'm pretty overweight (have been even before I hit puberty , it's my frame and genetics.. I suppose) Even when I was exercising 3-4 times a week vigorously as a child/teen (ballet and soccer) I was still overweight and never lost any weight. I've been fighting this with bad body image/etc since I was like 12-13. While my clothes are looking looser and it's noticeable that I'm slimming down, I still weigh more.. definite waistline too which I know isn't too common in heavier people..

I was thinking it could be muscle?
I guess I'll never be my ideal weight according to the BMI (it's near impossible for me.)
