I am 27, 5ft 7in and I weigh about 230 lbs. I have struggled with my weight on and off for my entire life. About three years ago, when I was a size 12, (which I might add I was very comfortable with) I got married. Shortly after I was married I gained about 80lbs. I went to the doctor to no avail. They did countless tests and never could determine the cause for my weight gain. Further more, I think they thought I lied about the quantity and quality of the food I eat. Three years later, and I have yet to loose all those pounds.
I work out daily, I have tried eating more, eating less, every diet under the sun. I have a great will power and commitment and nothing seems to work..
Lately I have done a lot of research on my body type, I have an adrenal body. Meaning I carry all of my weight in my stomach, and its usually caused by stress (which I can believe I work in a very stressful position) .. Does anyone else have the same problem? Has anyone actually had this problem and resolved it somehow?.. Does anyone know anything about this and where I can do more research? (I have googled it) I just want to be healthy.
Thanks in advance for reading my ramble... and for any advice..

Did your doctor check your thyroid and your other hormone levels?

It's very frustrating to feel like you CAN'T lose weight, but don't give up!!!

I highly recommend Essential Eating by Janie Quinn. This focuses strictly on eating your way to better health.

From an exercise perspective, have you considered working one on one for a while with a trainer who can develop a workout specifically for you and your body type?

High stress and obesity in the stomach area are each recipes for heart attacks, especially when both exist together. Keep trying, educate yourself by reading good information books like the one I mention above that will help you distinguish popular diet fad myths from actual healthy eating.

Don't give up. If you truly feel you're doing everything you can, and this must be a medical issue, then persist, switch doctors if you have to.
