The truth is that there are Laura miracle diets. I struggle every day with being overweight, and I think I'm fine now, but I repeat it daily lunch. Healthy eating, exercise, professional help, and lot of will and faith. Learn to cook healthy food, I am already an expert, Entertain something else to distract you, one does not, what you like, crafts, music, social assistance. And above all, control your visits to the supermarket, go with a list and choose healthy food. Luck....

HI jamesaaland, I had a weight issue for many years. I have been at a "normal" weight for about three years now. For me, I had to realize that I needed to change the way I was dealing the food, not just go on another diet. I knew that I could not do this by myself, so I found a support group that deals with food issues. Try googling "overeaters support group" and see what is out there.

I know that this is a powerful thing to deal with, but there is help out there. DJ

Im a believer in Weight Watchers! My Mom lost 65 pounds last year. My best friend has lost 15 pounds in 9 weeks. And I have lost 10 pounds in 9 weeks. The program is easy to follow and will provide you with the support groups to make this task easier.

I am 28 too and TRUST me! I feel your pain!! My weight loves to fluctuate and it seems like it takes forever to get it off.. I think the BEST thing to do is to make *small* changes... Not a "diet" per se, but maybe start by cutting out like extra condiments, or butter or something like that. Tell yourself you're going to eat one extra serving of vegetables a day or try to get enough rest or work out for 10 minutes a day. park further away at the grocery store, library, work, whatever. Something very small and very doable. Then slowly increase it to two servings of vegetables a day and getting 15 minutes of exercise, etc. You can even do exercises while you watch TV or find a class you can take with your baby or take your kiddos to the park if they are old enough to run around. Being active can have dramatic effects but DON"T be depressed if you dont' lose 10 lbs the first week!

More than just dieting, you should try to make a lifelong change in your eating habits toward a healthier lifestyle. In my experience, learning how to eat healthy and making healthy eating a daily routine is the most effective way to lose weight and keep it off. I tried out a couple of weight loss plans and I did lose some pounds actually, but as soon as I quitted them I regained back all my extra weight! Then I understood that the key-factor in weight-loss is learning balanced nutrition and put it into practice every single day of your life, not just for a limited period of time! Following a mediterranean-style diet helped me reach my goal. It's a complete set of eating habits, rich in grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes and fish and providing your body with a balanced intake of all the nutrients you need to stay healthy. No foods are off limits, you just learn how to combine them in a healthy and balanced mix, so it's something more similar to a lifestyle than simply to a diet.
Thanks to this new eating pattern, not only I lost some extra pounds but I managed to give up for good all the crazy habits I have had in the last two years (five fast-food-based lunches every week, very little fruits, too much meat, overindulging too often). If you want to know more about it, the name of my plan is Italiandiet, I guess you can find it easily by googling it. Hope this helps. Together with healthy eating, try to do some good workout: I do aquafit twice a week and I love it, it's the only sport I managed not to quit after a couple of weeks! :-) But whatever you like is ok: just have fun and exercise regularly! Good mood, motivation and perseverance are as important as a balanced diet!
    Good luck!
Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be a little bit better today than you were yesterday
