Hi! I would love to hear some help.

My best friend and I are 15 years old. And our bodies aren't like some other teens there.. We're a bit on the heavier side. Anyway, we both want to lose weight and we have no idea what would the perfect way to do that for teens.

Does anyone here have any suggestion?

Become physically active. Take up a sport. Get a job that requires physical activity.

There is only one effective way to lose weight and keep it off... forget all the gimmicks out there..... the only true way to lose weight is:
burn more calories than you eat.... that can be acheived by eating a well balanced meal and getting plenty of exercise. Do you drink a lot of soda? If you do switch to diet soda or drink water.... drink a full glass of water prior to each meal, that will help you feel fuller so you don't eat as much.... get lots of exercise, make sure it's something you enjoy like swimming, basketball etc.... so it really doesn't seem like exercise and you are more prone to doing it.

First thing to do is look in side your head and the language you use:

Loose Weight is not your goal, this is the byproduct. Tell yourselft you want to get fit or get healthy, live longer or want to be a size 12 (uk sizes sorry) by June 2011. Break the goal down into small chunks so you know you are on target.

The point I am making is to make this work you have to want it not need it and it has to be positive it gives you something health not takes something away like food

You have to want to be fit more than you want fatty food

    e.g.
I want to run 5km in 50 mins by 30 sept 2010 (note I have been very specific with my goal)

To do this I will set up a running programme (note I have set up small goals weekly or monthly, I have made them acheiveable and specific)

Month 1 I will go running twice a week
    Month 2 I will run 3km twice a week
    Month 3 I will run 3km in 50 mins
Month 4 I will run 4km in 50 mins etc.

My by product with be fitter and weight loss

Personally this is what I did to loose weight:

    Sold my car (more walking)
Drank less beer (only drink out of the house)
Eat less meat and never eat desert and put less food on my plate (or even use a smaller plate)
Only drink diet drinks coke and water (my beer substitute)
eat meals never avoid them (prevents snacking but veg, fruit or popcorn with nothing on it are all quite good for snacking)
    Cycle a little

    Suggest:
Get a Wii its fun exercse or dance mat is fun

Remeber you have to be specific, write down what you want to achieve and make sure it is realistic. Then you know exactly what you have achieved what you set out to do.

Don't try to loose weight too quickly you body will try to protect itself by slowing you metabilism and will end with you putting on weight.

If you are interested in the phsycology of what I am talking about look up NLP (neuro linguistic pragramming)

Keep in mind that as a teen your body is changing - and changing fast. While you're still growing and developing it's important to not restrict your calorie intake too much. I would recommend just getting more exercise, but unless you are obese (your doctor is one of the best judges for this), I don't recommend anything too drastic when it comes to dieting and exercise routines. This is the age where you will naturally gain more weight and get more "padding". Girls naturally have more fat on their bodies then men do. So as I said, unless you're medically obese please do not do anything too drastic with the dieting. Eating healthy (fruits and veggies) and getting a good amount of exercise (without overdoing it) is a good way to get fit.

You're still young. You can exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet to achieve your ideal weight. .
