I've been working on trying to get down to 130 lbs by the time school starts in August. I'm 13, weigh 147 and I am 4ft and 8 1/2 tall. (I'm short, I know) I've lost 7 lbs already and I'm hoping to lose more.
I can't stay on my imaginary routine of get up, work out, have a little "me" time, work out some more and eat healthy. Some days I stick on that, but more lately, I find myself forgeting to do a work out video or something.
I also need a work out buddy, possibly, who can lose weight with me and kinda keep each other on track.

Use this thread as your workout tracker.
Wake up > log on > tell us what your workout will be > workout > breakfast > me time > go about your day
Come back in the evening > log on > tell us what you ate > workout (or do something active and fun)
    etc etc

You'll get lots of encouragement and advice here if you keep coming back and updating.

Are your workouts fun, and does your healthy diet taste good too? Those two things are important in keeping the motivation up!

I'm looking to lose a little weight too, haven't decided exactly how I'm going to do so... But I might need a buddy in the future!

Ok, so do I just keep doing it on this topic, or do I go to another one? Thanks!
Mes, I've been doing workout videos and tomorrow, I'm going to the track and walk. I try to eat healthy, but today I just had 2 bad items.
I'll give you a website that helps you track your weight loss if you'd like. We can be buddies!

Cheyenne, I'd be interested in the website, if you don't mind sharing.

Yeah, just keep posting on this thread everyday. Even if you don't work out, come back and tell us what you ate and what your plan for the next day is. (but hopefully you do something active everyday) : )

Sorry it took so long to reply!

I've been trying to walk at sunset, and then sometimes in the morning. I've been baby-siitng alot so I have to run around with them, witch probably equals to all of my exercise a day!

Sara, I think this is the website: http://www.tickerfactory.com/ezticke...r_designer.php
It's very easy to follow and set up!

Ok, today I haven't exercised yet, but I plan on doing half a mile tonight. I have ate: Strawberry Greek yougurt, orange juice, brocolie and cheese, english toffee capicino, and coffee. And for dinner, we're having hamburger helper.

Tomorrow: (don't know about food yet), but I plan on getting up about 5 and walking, and then I may walk again once the baby takes a nap. I won't be home until Thursday night, but I'll try to remember what I do every day and write the foods down!

Is there any way you might be able to get more fresh fruits and veggies into your diet? Are you doing any kind of weight training? I might be good to just do some simple things like pushups, stomach crunches and squats to help you do some toning as well? I know at 13 you don't have a lot of control over your food intake but maybe you could discuss eating more fruits and veggies and whole grains with your parents? Or maybe having a smaller portion of the hamburger helper with some green beans on the side or steamed carrots or something like that?

Even if you can't get on here for a few days, maybe you can write it down on a piece of paper and then put it all on here so we can see what you've eaten over the course of a few days. Be sure to write down everything. Even a handful of chips or some crackers or a small candy bar. It all adds up

I've tried, but no-one really wants to do it with me, so I lose hope in myself. But when we go grocery shopping this weekend, I'm going to ask mom if I can get half a loaf of whole grain bread or something like that. I eat Fiber one Bars and I try to make smoothies wiht Blueberries, Strawberries, Bananas, and things like that. I'm looking for something called Stevia Powder, but I can't find it anywhere. I looked at Walmart, but since they're remodiling, it may not be availible. I do try and do puch-ups and small things like that, but I very rarly do, and I'm goign to try and start using weights when I walking. I had half a bowl (half a cup) and half a cup of green beans.

I'm defiently going to do that! I may not know exactly what it is, but if I ask my aunt, she'll probably tell me what it is. The only problem is that I'll probably forget or something, but I have to keep reminding myself! :-)

I think they have Stevia at Walmart, but I am not cetain about your area. You may have to go to a more specialized place like Whole Foods, Wild Oats, Fresh Market, Trader Joes... One of those places if you have any in your area. It's not really cheap though and really it's just a type of sweetener. If you can get used to eating things without additional sweetener or by using honey or something like that?

I was overweight for a good portion of my teen years and I KNOW how hard it is when your family isn't supportive. BUT if you'll do your best to move around a lot, that will definitely help! Eat veggies when you can and move around as often as you can. Even if you walk around while you're on the phone or try to go up and down some stairs a few extra times a day if you have some at your house. All the little things will add up. Also be sure to drink lots of water and to avoid soft drinks and super sugary coffee drinks.
