    Default Diet Planning, Help!

Hello Everyone! I am new here. I am 22 years old and I'm weighing in at about 189lbs. I need a diet plan to stick to but I have no idea where to start or what to cut out of my life. I don't like salads, I've never liked them. My doctor had wrote me some Adipex last year, I still have 1 bottle of them left. When I was taking them last year, for a couple of weeks they worked then it seemed like they MADE me wanna eat, so I quit taking them. I don't know if I should try my other bottle again, along with a diet plan or what. In 2004 I weighed 135, I settled down with my boyfriend and since have gained alllll that weight. I would love to be around 135-140 tops! Maybe my DD's will shrink too, that would be greatttt. Anyways, I was curious as to what you ladies do, if you had any plans or meal suggestions that would get me going. Thank you!

Lots of fruits, whole grains, veggies and lean meat. Small portions. Balance is what it's all about.
No fried foods, no greasy eggs and hashbrowns or burgers. You know when you're eating something bad. Clean eating. Lots of water before and after meals.

give salads another try, experiment with lots of different toppings (healthy ones, not a ton of bacon and ranch dressing)
Watch your fat intake. And lots of activity and exercise.

What's a typical day of meals for you right now?

For me personally (and I know it's hard) but it's good to plan the day in advance. Take into consideration if you're going somewhere like out to eat, look at the menus in advance, ask friends what foods will be at their events/cookouts, etc. I also try to keep a snack in my purse just in case. Like a zone bar or an apple. Something easy to get to if I get hungry without stopping and getting something more "junk food". Eat lots of fruits and veggies. Lots of smaller meals regularly. If you feel "stuffed" that's not good. Work hard to eat till you're just not hungry anymore but eat slow when possible to give your brain time to catch up with your stomach.

Make small changes and try to work out when you can. That will help a lot! Even if you can only squeeze in 15-20 minutes a day...that will add up over a week!

you say you gained the weight after you and your boyfriend started living together... can you think back to before you were living together, and think about what your eating and exercise habits were at that time? What has changed between then and now? Are you on any new medications (like hormonal BC)? If you start thinking about how your lifestyle was at your ideal weight vs how it is now, you might find a clue to how you can get back to that again...

Thanks! A daily meal is usally something like...
Breakfast, frosted flakes cereal or a blue berry muffin (I love them!) lunch is usally a can of soup or maybe some chicken fries from the store up our road with honey mustard. Dinner, it depends. Last night we had mac & cheese, friend squah with potatos and onions and hot peppers in it and cornbread. Which isnt great I know. I've tried liking salads, cucumbers, tomatos, I hate it all. I dont like the crunch. I like spinach, but it's has to be cooked down and mixed into something. I love streamed brocoli so I've been making it at night too.

Before I met my boyfriend, I was 16. I had the flat belly, when we started dating I wouldnt eat in front of him. After months passed and we moved in together I guess I got comfortable and ate more. I'm not taking any types of medication, birth control or anything, never have. I guess I need a diet of baked chicken and steamed veggies )

Ok, I've highlighted your problem. Everything you mentioned is pure junk. It's not to say that one of those meals every couple of weeks as a treat is ok, but honestly (I'm going to be blunt) your diet is terrible. Anyone would gain weight eating that. Little to no nutritional value and A LOT of empty, fried, fattening calories.

Fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains and exercise.

Yeah, hasn't been much of a diet at all. My dad grows the squash and everything else in our garden and I can't stand eating it boiled, it's nasty. I haven't gained any weight in 2 years, I've been the same size. Each year when I go see my gyno it's the same weight. So I'm not gaining horribly, so just have over the last few years. I guess now is a good time to start a diet, which is why I asked. I will have to go to the grocery store tomorow and pick up some things. Thank you all

Don't go on a diet, just change your lifestyle and the way you eat.

Ehi, boiling veggies is not the only way to cook them healthily! Have you ever tried some grilled peppers/zucchini/eggplants?? They are as good as if you fried them, even better, believe me, and you cut thousands of calories that way!
It's just a little tip to make you understand that you don't necessarily need to sacrifice your taste to eat healthier. And, maybe, your unhealthy eating habits are what you should blame mostly for your weight gain, so try to slowly change the way you eat toward more genuine foods and – Sourpuss, you're totally right! - don't just go on a diet, make healthy eating a daily routine, learn balanced nutrition and portion control and put it into practice every single day of your life, not just for a limited period of time. To me, this lifelong change has been the only way to lose weight and keep it off and following a mediterranean eating style has been a good help to learn how to make more responsible eating choices. It's a balanced and varied dietary pattern that focuses on what to eat (more whole grains, more fruits, more vegetables and legumes, a lot of fish, olive oil) rather than on what not to eat (less red meats and less dairy), no foods are off limits and this positive approach makes it easier to stick to your plan. And so far as you learn how to combine foods in a healthy and balanced mix and you adopt your new eating style as a lifestyle, losing weight and keeping it off will be a natural consequence of your behaviour! If you want to know more about my plan, just google Italiandiet. Hope this helps!
    Good luck!
Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be a little bit better today than you were yesterday
