Sounds good! Good luck!!
So, I let myself kinda just go for about 12 months and the scale and my level of fitness sure reflected it. It's been a long process really getting to where I am eating and working out like I would like, but I am trying. I am doing my best to avoid any crash diets and just eat like I should and workout as much as possible. I feel like in the end, it's about getting back into a normal lifestyle and even though it might take several months, in time, my body will lose the 10-15 lbs that I would like it to
July is my rev up month so I wanted to start this thread to kind of keep myself on task. I have goals and I have workouts planned so I am going to post them below and hope to be able to complete goals each week.
July 4th-July 13th goals:
Food: Try to eat at least 3 servings of veggies EVERY day
Exercise: Do three Zumba sessions, Go to gym twice to do elliptical and upper body weights, do Abs workout class twice, Get in walking of at least 4-5 miles (total) on off days.
I am moving this week so it might be a BIT ambitious to try to get so many workouts but I know even if I miss one upper body workout, all the boxes I'll be packing will more than make up for it![]()

I know what you mean by letting things fall by the wayside (and i think sometimes when it comes to our fitness we think it's something that can be ignored rather than maintained). Since I started seeing my new boyfriend (who is skinny like a greyhound so can eat whatever he wants) i have put on quite a bit of weight, monday-friday i eat as healthy as can be (we're in a long distance relationship so usually only see each other one weekend a month) but come the weekends with my boyfriend it's pizza and pancakes and burgers etc etc and this slip in my normally healthy eating gradually started creeping into my weekdays until a few weeks ago i had a milkshake, burger and chips for my lunch and then take away for my dinner. I gave myself a right slap and am now back on course.
It's good to write down your goals to help envisage them. My main folly used to be if i had one slip up the whole day was declared a bust but thankfully i've stopped that now.
I completely agree pixiebean! It's easy to be like "well I had a bad breakfast, might as well eat whatever and start again tomorrow." That is one thing I am working hard not to do. If I eat too much or have something I shouldn't have, I am trying to just accept the extra calories and fat rather than feel the need to eat a bunch more... that's a good way to get in a landslide of bad eating/overeating!

Keeping track of my calories and what I eat with a food log is the only way to keep me on track! If I overeat early in the day, then that's my bad and I just have to suffer in the evening. It's a great way to make sure you stay on track every day.
Yeah, I think before I just got so wrapped up in what was going on at school, work, etc that I just didn't watch what I was doing and I didn't "have time" to workout. I mean, I got to where I just didn't even do 20 minutes when I could. I was relying on the food during stress when I should have been focusing on working out and relaxation...
I find when I really start to eat right, workout and feel good, I don't want the crappy food because I remember how good it feels to feel good![]()

Ohhh you go girl. Nothing better to keep you on task than setting ambitious goals for yourself. Some of us need those goals, I'm one of those people too!! I think the key is listening to your body. Try to eat things that are easily digestible (you can do a google search to find out the fruits and veggies that are the best for you as far as digestion). I know you've already incorporated some things like Quinoa into your diet which is awesome.
Try not to pay too much attention to the number on the scale. I'm sure you don't, but just a reminder. It's not a good guide, it's about how you feel in your own skin, how your clothes fit, your energy level, your appetite, your ability to sleep well, regular BM's, healthy skin, etc. These are the things you'll notice that REALLY matter.

Thanks BD... Honestly I just *feel* soooooo much better when I take care of myself. It's amazing really. And I just joined this delivery service that brings local/organic fruits and veggies to my house one day a week which is very helpful in making sure I'm getting good, in season, healthy things to eat
I don't feel super great in my skin right now lol But I'm getting there. It's honestly just about fitting back into my clothes and having lots of energy. It all works together, but I feel like my body is starting to appreciate/cooperate with me![]()

Okay so tapping out a bit early on last weeks goals and starting new week today...SO Goals for July 12th-18th.
Workouts: Do Zumba 3 times, Do Abs class tonight, Go to gym twice to do elliptical and weights (and finish moving and cleaning old apartment which will require some lifting and moving around)
Food: Continue to try to eat at least 3 solid servings of veggies everyday, two servings of fruits daily, and 2-3 servings of lowfat dairy (primarily yogurt and skim milk)
Feeling good...Feeling good
BTW: Did pretty well on last week's goals. Missed one day of cardio that I wanted to do and didn't get many veggies in on the big moving day, but otherwise did well.
