What foods do you crave? What creamy, crunchy, salty, sweet, cold, hot, filling, gorgeous food do you long for?

I work with women to take charge of their lives, recover from emotional eating, and release themselves from hormonal imbalances. We work on nutrition, lifestyle and building a solid support system for them to create change.

I adore talking about food, cooking food, investigating food, growing food, eating food, and thinking about food! Yes, I'm a recovering emotional eater, but I have learned to transform my excessive interest in food into a way to heal people's lives.

My question to you is: What foods do you crave? When do you crave them? How do you eat them? Where do you eat them?! Do you eat them alone always? When do you actually eat them?

Tell me all about it, I really want to know!

Cinnabun. And I don't eat it . I snap the little rubberband round my wrist and remind myself that being thin will give me more pleasure then any food can.

    Sugar. Scones, cookies, etc.
Crave them immediately after I eat something. It's like I've conditioned myself to have a bit of sweet to end every meal.

I think this is very common. I know I do it. Lately, I try to work on that by snacking on a few dried apricots, or having a piece of multigrain with some almond butter and honey on it. That has helped me give up my sugary treats. And, I make sure I don't keep them in my house. (Unfortunately the vending machine still has them though...and they scream at me every day when I walk by it. haha).

I crave marshmallows and other sugary treats.

Mostly after I eat a meal, even if I'm full.

I stopped buying sugary treats, just so I couldn't indulge.

The longer I go without eating them, the less I think about them.

When I do indulge, I feel guilty afterwards. But I only feel guilty if I'm indulging alone. If I am eating out with friends and decide to get a dessert, even if they don't share it, I don't feel guilty for it. But when I'm alone at home stuffing marshmallows in my mouth, I feel badly about myself. So I stopped buying them. It is actually a good feeling to know that I have NOTHING like that in my home now.

Breads too. I forgot about breads. Bread is "comforting" to me. I enjoy the way it makes me feel when I bite down on it and taste it. Mmmmmm. Again, I don't keep bread in my home other than multigrain flat-rounds. But I can TEAR up some Olive Garden breadsticks.

As I've gotten older, I definitely crave sweets more. I am working on chewing gum after every meal to kind of "trick" my brain into thinking it's gotten sweets. When that doesn't work, I am keeping fruit on hand to eat instead of giving in to something completely horrible for me. I also tend to crave cheese. I have always loved cheese. I do eat it in moderation and try to eat lower fat/cal versions but man, I love cheese

Poutine, cinnomon buns, any and all fast foods..

I crave them whenever they are mentioned. I only eat them alone as I don't want to be judged.

deep friend foods! sooooo bad, and yet soooooo good! Anything fried, sweet or salty - chicken, mozzarella sticks, potstickers, cheese curds, funnel cake, donuts, egg rolls, whatever - if its rolled in batter and deep fried I will probably eat it!

I crave it when I think about it.. I especially crave it when I smell it! I don't eat the stuff by myself, because like BD that's when I feel a bit guilty about it. But when I'm in a social setting, I'll chow down! I still can't stop myself from eating the yummy friend goodness, but I at least tone down stuffing my face and just have a piece or two instead... not the best option, but I'm doing better than I was! Baby steps?
