    Question Motivation help

Okay, so I have recently been trying to get to a healthier weight.
I have been doing stuff like keeping a food diary and weighing and all that jazz but there is one problem.
I'm not much of a self motivator and my zen place is , like we don't all know, on the couch in front of the t.v. with my pug watching cartoons. So what I would like is just some advice on how I could maybe get a little bit more motivated and improve my habits.....maybe I need more hobbies?

Definitely need more hobbies. Turn the TV off and get outside and move your body. We all need exercise, everyday, regardless of our weight. Join a city sports team, there are tons of novice leagues that will take anyone and it usually a ton of fun and you make lots of new friends.

I know this sounds a little whackadoo, but when I dropped a lot of weight, one of my motivations was to look at pictures of skinny women, and envision myself skinny. Also to kind of pretend like I was skinny all the time, cause if I am skinny, I act more like a skinny person.

I was the same way except boston terrier and lifetime instead of pug and cartoons. read an ebook that was outstanding and helped alot if you want i will send you the link. turns out we are all creatures of habit so you have to replace activities with other activities. for instance, every time you feel like going to the couch for robot chicken set a standard task like a quick walk in the neighborhood or watch a half hour of fitTV AND PARTICIPATE!! lol good luck, God Bless!

I agree with rhiannon34 i used to see a hypnotherapist for my weight gain and it really helped- she got me to kind of visualise stepping into a thin persona body and feeling what it would be like- it really worked for a bit. Now as soon as any lazy thoughts come into my head like I can't be bothered to get up and go train I immediately make myself do 30 press ups! It kind of trains any lazy thoughts out!

    Shootingmaggots,

Have you tried to partner with a close friend to keep one another motivated and accountable?
The fact that you are keeping a fitness log is a huge start, but there is nothing like a friend to keep you honest with yourself. You might even take a look at something like certifiedmotivation

Also, have you tried a personal trainer? They can be expensive, but you get what you pay for!
