    Hi there,

I work out 5-6 days a week. I do spin, run, elliptical, play tennis, lift weights, do a total body conditioning class, etc. I also follow weight watchers. I'm usually really good during the week and only go off slightly on the weekends. I still stay within the program. And yet, I've been gaining weight lately. What do you think it could be? Could I be gaining muscle and not losing enough fat for it to show a loss? Any other ideas? I'm getting so frustrated! Also, my clothes are not fitting better. I lost 15lbs and then it stopped. I tried varying my exercise to avoid a plateau. Nada. help!!!

    Thanks,
    Steph

Do you consume alcoholic drinks? That can pack on lbs. Also- if you're on any medications like antidepressants, that could also make it harder to lose weight. I am sure you're gaining because of muscle gain. As far as clothes fitting, you seem like you're getting bigger?

How long have you been packing on pounds? Have you started eating different kinds of foods than you did previously?

It sounds like you might have hit a plateau. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water. Also make sure you are increasing the intensity of your workouts.

If you're doing WW. Make sure you're eating your points. They have calculated the amount to lose into their system. If you start eating less, esp if you are working out, your body might think it is not getting enough food. If you're doing weights, I'd also suggest going by your measurements and how your clothes fit because it could be due to muscle. You'll look thinner with muscle, but not necessarily weigh less.
