I am a new mom planning to lose weight. I am partially nursing as my son is 9 months now and he is well into solids. I am trying my best to incorporate some kind of exercise to lose small amounts of weight per week. Its hard to be on track and when ever I see the pounds coming down I go and hog. I am not sure why I do that. Currently I am 143 and I want to reach 126 which is the ideal weight for my height. I really wish I could reach my goal. I hope I will be able to do it. I am going to try.

Just keep up the work and hang in there. I think it's very hard to learn that you need to reward yourself in other ways besides food. It can be anything really that you like, but like, maybe you get a pedicure when you reach 7 more lbs or a new book at 5 lbs or something like that. Maybe you can plan a night out to the movies for you and friends or your SO when you reach your goal OR "splurge" on a new outfit when you hit the goal. Try to reward yourself with something beside a big meal

Keep up the good work. You really should try to exercise as much as you can. You can take your son on walks in his stroller, attend a mommy & me type class, just whatever works for you. Remember, that even though you should focus on the care of your son, it also helps him to have a healthy, active mommy! When he gets a bit older and is walking, it'll be a great opportunity to chase him around outside to get in some cardio as well

    Default Thank you

As you said, a healthy mom can take care of her baby well. I was proud of myself yesterday when I went to starbucks and had lowfat fruitbar instead of fatty stuff. I am currently 143.0 - sep 14 2010. This week I was to come down to 142.0 by Sep 19th. Hopefully I will do it.

    Default Lose weight hindrance

I am not sure why I am sill doing this. Every time i lose weight I am going and eating something that is unhealthy or I cook something high fat like deep fried stuff. Why am I not letting myself go down? I really hope I help myself achieve my goal. If anyone has some advice please let me know.....

It is hard to get out of the cycle of doing that. I used to do that quite a bit when I'd reach a milestone and before I knew it, my one treat turned into a day of treats, turned into a week and then I just sabatoged myself. You will feel better if don't eat stuff like that. You have to find a reward system that works for you that does not involve food. You also have to let the people around you know that you are serious about being healthy so they don't try to sabotage you as well.

Losing weight is not easy but you can do it. Don't give up!

I agree. I do it too. But we need to find awards for ourselves that are not food related. Rewarding and/or comforting ourselves with food is where the weight problems originate. Try saving up for a pedicure or having coffee with a friend as a reward instead.

Default weight loss update Sep 22 2010

I am happy and proud of myself to say that I have lost something!! I am currently 142.2. Started off 143. I also measured myself and saw that I lost an inch off my hips. My lower tummy seems to stay the same which is the largest.

Thank you all for the support. I had a frappachino without whipped cream and I was proud of doing that. I have never had frappe without whipped cream!

Love you all guys...bye for now. I will be giving weekly updates from now on. I want to achieve a dream body. which is wearing my size and seeeing no bulges and feeling confident. Would love to see some muscle definition here and there. That is my dream body.

What are you guys dream bodies?

Great job! You're seeing some results which must feel very rewarding! I recently lost 26 lbs with the help of a nutrition specialist and a trainer that my company brought in to help the employees make healthier choices. I've stayed the same for about 3 weeks (fell of the program for a bit), but I didn't gain, and now I'm back to logging my food/drink intake, and exercising 6-7 hrs a week - hope to lose another 20 or 30 lbs, basically I want to be stay voluptuous - chesty, hippy, thicker booty and thighs (think plus size model) - but tone it up and get rid of all the extra jiggle that shouldn't be there!

One thing to note for youon your journey - frapacchinos and frappes, even without the whipped cream, are still LOADED with calories. One small 12oz frappacchino I think is about 200 calories... thats a lot in a drink and isn't very fulfilling other than the sweetness factor and the caffeine. Any way you can teach yourself to drink your coffee black? I was the worst at loading my morning brew with sugar and cream because I didn't like black coffee, but now that I've been drinking it black for a while I don't like the taste of all that sugar in my drink - it almost hurts my teeth! If you absolutely hate black coffee, how about a shot of natural honey to take away the bitter?

Just thinking of things that will help you obtain your ultimate goal! And cutting out 200 or more calories a day WILL help get you there!

Hi KMonte85, Thank you so much for replying. The thing is I was a coffee addict. I decided to stop drinking coffee and I stopped it. I only have sometimes when I go out, like the other day I met with a friend. she ordered Mango frappe and I got tempted and ordered this chocolate coffee frappe. I should learn to be determined and say to myself that I can drink junk only after a certain pound weightloss. Think that will help initially. Good luck on your weight loss.

    Hi all,

I am happy and proud to say that I lost a tad bit more. I am currently 141.8. Lost 0.4 which is not much but at least it is a progress. I am currently having a little bit high calorie intake to keep up with the milk supply for the baby. So my weight loss is slow. But I am happy that I am at least progressing. Next week I am travelling for 2 weeks. I just hope I dont gain everything back again. Any tips you guys can give me about maintaining weight during travelling please let me know. Thanks again.
