Now I am wondering, how long does it take for your body to cleanse of the junk you were on and start losing wieght? I have cut the junk out for nearly a week now (well fast food) I gave up sugars and "snacks" for about a month now. I used to eat fast food nearly 3 times a week, but now it's cut down to nil, only thing I eat are subway sandwiches (turkey breast on brown w lots of veggies and limited sauces), tim hortons sandwiches (same as subway only its ham n swiss) and that's it. I drink 100% juice with no sugar added if I am feeling "sweet" or I eat fruit.

For a week now I have for breaky a tiny bowl of cereal (cheerios) 1 cup cereal to 1/2 cup of 2% milk (I know i should be drinking skim, but I am still nursing) for lunch, a sandwich and either a fruit or a yogurt cup, and for supper either a can of soup with a tuna/ cold cut sandwich OR chicken breast/ fish fillet with roasted BN squash. Of course I Am drinking plenty of fresh water a day. Now the excersise is something that will come gradually, as it is too cold to go for walks with my baby.

Some of you have NO I-D-E-A how hard it is for me to resist temptation. My hub eats fast food all the time and has junk stored away. Now I cant lie and say I never slipped, because I have . But I have recovered and now I am back on track. I noticed now that I am eating less, my stomach becomes full easier, I am assuming this is a good thing. Everytime I feel hungry between meals I drink a big glass of water and it usually goes away.

Any input, tips etc are greatly appreciated!!

Ps. Is it normal to feel more tired when you eat less than normal? I still make sure I get 1500 cals a day or should it be less/ more?????? Thanks

    Hey there,

Congrats on making such a change in your diet! You do mention that you eat a LOT of sandwiches, and frankly subway sandwiches aren't all that great for weight loss. (Jared lies. )

You might be feeling tired because you're not getting enough of some vitamin or other, do you take multivitamins? If not that might help a lot, and would be good for your breast milk too I'm sure.

Why dont you have a look online/in your local bookshop for a recipe book purely consisting of healthy meals and snacks??

Often, a lack of iron in your diet can cause a lot of fatigue. Women are especially prone to iron deficiency due to the whole menstruation thing, but there are a lot of foods you can eat to help with that: lean red meats, shellfish, spinach, beans, legumes, etc. But I would think a lot of your fatigue might also come from having a little one as well?

Good work on switching to a healthier diet! Do try to find some books about healthy cooking (Mediterranean is the "in" thing these days, and it is delicious) - it's fun! Good luck!
