Hi all. Im new to the forums. I found myself sitting around feeling sorry for myself again and i came across this forum. You see ive been in a slump for, oh, around four years now. i used to workout every day for hours. i loved it. But i really havent worked out in over three years. ive gained weight and im depressed. a friend of mine posted her marathon time on facebook and i told her i hadnt workout in years. she was shocked and said that' s not like me. and its true, its not.

Ive worked out every day this week and its felt great. i am having a hard time convincing myself to workout today. i know i'll feel better if i do. i also need to cut out candy. i buy candy every day. i feel disgusting afterwards, but i keep buying it anyway. Id really like to lose 20 lbs by christmas. I think it is reasonable if i could just cut out the candy.

    Welcome Zen...

Habits are hard to change, but your on the road to going back to your old self, so don't stress over the candy, you'll stop buying it as you progress with working out...

    Good for you...

    Default week two

Thanks Chalender for your encouragement. I think you are right on about just focusing on working out and then i will stop eating candy. I have recently become an emotional eater, which is really weird for me. I've never been that way before. Now i use food to make me feel better where i used to use working out to make me feel better. Im so disgusted with myself sometimes.

Even though there was three big bags of candy sitting around I didnt have any of it! so im glad for that. when i eat junk i feel sick but its so compulsive. im trying to remind myself that it doesnt make me feel better. I had a good workout today. went on the elliptical for thirty minutes. I didnt workout at all this weekend and only got three hours of sleep so i took it kind of easy today. I took some pictures of myself before i started working out and im going to take pix again at the end of december. I also weighed myself. I'll just weigh myself once a month. I plan on working out ever day this week. We'll see how it goes

go throw that candy away! Congrats on getting back on the wagon. Stick to your plan and you'll succeed. Sounds like you know what you need to do, and I know doing it is the hardest part. But you're right, you always feel better after a workout, no matter how much you don't want to do it.

I did throw out the candy . i dont think im going to be able to work out tomorrow though. ugh. frustrated. i told myself that i would commit to working out at a certain time and not let work or school interfere...yet...it did. i also volunteer in a lab and today the instructor said, 'so you'll be here tomorrow morning to finish that?' instantly i said, 'of course' but simultaneously i thought, NO! thats my time to workout. frustrated. straight from there i have to go to work, and then to class. by then its 7pm, im brain dead, and i just want to go home.
