    Default Hot water and Lemon?

this girl told me she's lost 30 pounds in 3 months while keeping the weight off by drinking hot water and lemon as soon as she woke up.

I googled it and it even talked about Beyonce doing the same thing but adding maple syrup and paprika i believe. She claims to have lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks and apparently is a very popular diet.

I would like to try this and get my metabolism up and start exercising. I get discouraged when I try really hard and see no results so I thought if I tried this little diet along with walking everyday, It would help and I could really get into fitness and exercise to better myself. I'm 20 yrs old and by next december when I turn 21 I want to fit into that cute little dress and go out clubbing!

So does anybody have any personal experiences with the hot water and lemon? I'd love to hear about it.

honestly little fad tricks never help in the long run. You may see and initial weight loss but most of these tricks end up with you gaining back the weight and then sum. Your best bet is switching to a healthy lifestyle that is a balance of healthy eating and exercise.

Nope. This is one of those extra mental add-ons that can lead a person to lose weight. Its like "I am drinking this so obviously if I work out harder I will lose weight!!", when in reality it is the working out and eating right that are causing the weight loss as with anything else. Also 20lbs of weight loss in 2 weeks is not going to happen unless you are very overweight and working out like a mad woman causing massive water weight loss. The only thing that works is eating healthy, eating right, and a good exercise routine that is maintained for quite a period of time.

Burn more calories than you consume = weight loss. Consume more calories that you burn = weight gain.

Sorry, but there's no mystery to it. No pills, shakes, drinks, fruit juice, exotic fruit or grass clippings from the front yard that's going to provide long term weight loss.

It's lifestyle, daily diet and exercise that make the difference.

    Sooner,

I did hear a doctor say that it is good to drink some water and lemon in the a.m. to go ahead and get your metabolism going when you wake up. I don't, however, think it's going to make you lose 20 lbs in two weeks. OR maybe even in two months without proper diet and exercise. As hard as it is, the best thing is to start eating healthier. I have been eating like the last two weeks and trust me, I can tell the difference in my energy, drive, and just general attitude.

Cut out as much processed food as you can. Exercise at least 3-5 days a week doing a combo of cardio and strength training. You'll get there. Start today!

Oh absolutely. I don't expect some lemons to do all of the work while I sit on my butt eating mcdonalds. the question was if it really boosted your metabolism like it says because if it does, then it would really help me.

I love to drink green tea with lemon and no sugar every morning and throughout the day. It fills me up so I eat less, has tons of antioxidants, no calories, and gives me the boost I need in the morning. It's a great replacement for coffee or sugary drinks if you don't like water too.

    I hope it helps

my vote still goes to a healthy diet, exercise and changed lifestyle. fad diets will just make you gain weight all the more. go for long term weight loss
