I always gave myself a break and said "i'll start again on monday". Monday never comes. If you truely want to be a healthy weight you have to retrain your mind. Never look at anything as a diet or a work out. Its a lifestyle and make working out fun. Rule number one, put down any and all soda. Diet soda isn't any better. You need to drink alot of water. Also you need to eat often (about every 2-3 hrs). I always feel like I'm piggin out but its on fruits and veggies. Watch your calories and your protein. Find something active you love doing. The gym was a drag to me. I hated the feeling of sweaty people packed into a place like that. I went out and bought a bunch of dance games for my Wii because I grew up in dance classes. I love it and it never feels like a work out.
Bottom line, you can do it. You NEED to believe that. I never thought I'd ever get back under 200lbs much less get healthy. In 3 months I lost 30lbs, I'm officially under 200lbs and still going. Once you get used to your new life, the weight just falls off and you don't know it. The first couple weeks will be very hard but once you prove it to yourself, you will get excited to keep going

    good luck hun

You have to flip the switch, hun. That is what will get you where you want to be, more than any pill, more than any gym membership, more than any specific diet plan... what is most critical is that mental switch you flip when you tell yourself, and subsequently BELIEVE , that you have the power to change your body. That you are the one in control of what goes into it. That weightloss is science, its calories in/calories spent (PERIOD).

You can lose the weight if you figure out how many calories your body needs per day to be healthy and losing weight ( you can see a doctor, nutrionist, or visit websites that can help you determain what that magic number is for you) you get a notebook and you count every calorie that you put into your body and you stick to your target. You get up and you do SOMETHING every day, even if its just taking your dog for a walk, taking stairs instead of elevators, parking far, getting up to change the channel rather than use the remote... just MOVE your body...

As you feel healthier through your diet FORCE yourself to get to that gym as if your life depended on it. Once you have gone a few times it will get easier and easier to go... and the hard part is getting there, once you're there, you will work out... so just make yourself get there, heck or high water.

Understand that to lose weight and keep it off, its a lifestyle, its a choice. Its the fleeting pleasure of a donut that will be gone in minutes VS the euphoria you feel when you lose those pounds and fit the clothes you want, feel good about yourself.

Everytime you are faced with a bad eating choice, think of how it will taste, think of the fact that no matter how good it would be, in a few moments it will be gone... and you will be back to being right where you were before you ate it... only with extra calories in your body.

Once you fully understand that you control you, that no drive thru's... no cookies... they don't own you... you own you, you control what goes in your body... you can say no. Do it for ONE month... one month and pretend like your doctor put you on some special diet where you can't eat junk for one month, where you have to go to the gym 3 days a week for one month in order to heal yourself... make up whatever story you need to do it... for ONE month... 30 days of your life in a lifetime. By the end of that month you will have lost enough weight to have the encouragement you need, the reinforcement that everything you are doing is worth it...

then soon it won't be forcing yourself, soon you will just do it, and you will feel so good about yourself, you just have to flip that switch and know that it won't happen tomarrow that you are at your ideal weight, nor will it happen next week either... it will take time, its not a quick fix... but you can be where you want to be 3 months from now, or you can be exactly as you are now. Times going forward either way... so you can spend it working towards your goals...
Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.

i can understand where your coming from. when i was in highschool just a few years ago my weight was kind of up and down. but from the time i was a freshman to a senior, i did lose weight..putting on more towards my junior senior year, i think the reason why i stayed thinner through highschool was, i didnt eat but once i day, and though thats not healthy, it kept the weight off, and i have to say it effected my grades severely. i was hungry but never wanted to eat, infront of people..i was worried they would say things about me, so i only ate when i got home. i also stayed more active in the beginning of highschool, because you dont have a license yet, so your still riding your bike or walking everywhere. what i can tell you is that it is possible to make the changes, but you have to be COMPLETELY ready to commit, and you will know when that is, you will tell yourself, im OVER THIS, TODAY IS THE DAY and you will push yourself when you know your about to let up. this is a great quote "Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation leans on the doorbell." its will power, we all have it, we just dont always know how to use it!
