A year ago I made a decision to have a 6-pack by summer. Needless to say, the most difficult thing to do at first was to stay motivated and consistent, but I ultimately pulled myself through and in Six months I achieved it! Though I could see by the third month in March the excess fat was melting off of me (I’m not overweight, but there was a roll around there if you know what I mean).

Those final few pounds are definitely the hardest. I encourage anyone who has resolutions to get fit to stay consistent for at the least Three months because 1. You WILL see benefits after 3 months 2. Following three months, working out will become a behavior not a job 3. By summer months you'll have very easily achieved the 6pack.

I used these free e books I stumbled upon and they were wonderful - no need to spend on costly fitness trainers. Anyone could get these free here (need to sign up tho) It’s a matter of self-dedication, determination, and staying committed afterwards after getting those ebooks.

What also really helped me was an ebook called “truth about abs,” but I had to purchase it. It’s the most affordable thing around to a real plan and regimen beside a personal trainer and a nutritionist, but like I mentioned I wasn’t going to fork out a lot of money to get “training.” The only real hurdle between myself and getting a six-pack was myself - and I tore down that hurdle thank you very much!

Congrats on reaching your goal! Actually I have the same goal, want to have a six pack by summer. But I did read somewhere online that it's very hard for women to show a six pack due to having to get down to a really low fat % which can make you stop having periods and isn't great for you. I have the six pack as far as I can feel the muscles, but you can't really see them except for first thing in the morning and even then, maybe a 4 pack. Not sure if I can drop down to a low enough body fat for them to show, mainly due to the fact that I still like to have a little something sweet everyday! I eat really well and work out several days a week, but I still like to enjoy a little something each day. I met my goal last year and lost the 10lbs I had put on after getting remarried and getting a more sedentary job...and actually went beyond and lost 16lbs and have maintained since last July so I'm really happy about that. Now just wanting to have that great bikini body. Will be 39 this June, so feeling great about looking my best in at least 10yrs.

Good for you both. Sticking to your workout regimen is a huge challenge. I got into P90X and I'm on my second week now but I can hardly keep up with the everyday workout requirement.

I'll try harder next week. My target is to lose about 8 to 10 lbs and be more toned especially in the midsection by April 2011.
