I am overweight and I am to the point where I really want to feel more confident about myself as a person. I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. I really want to lose the weight by exercising and dieting so any advice on that is very helpful. I really need something that will work out for me while I am in high school and have a part-time job.

Please see the post written by WidChild as a reply to the thread titled "Does African Mango Extract really work?". I think WildChild says about all you need to know for weight loss.

I have tried a lot of different products. I know for me, I need to start excercising more. One week when I really weighed out my food and portioned it and made sure I was eating 1200-1500 calories, I managed to drop 6 pounds. Probably a lot of water weight, but still that was great. But man,was it hard to find the time to do all the portioning so it only lasted one week!!! And I am terrible about whipping up a good breakfast. So I am trying to find find a balance. I just started recently drinking a meal replacement shake for breakfast. Really yummy and I actually crave it. And I need to give up the pop again!!

I just started back to the gym about 6 weeks and try to get there 3-5 times a week and eat smaller portions. I have tried the meal replacement drinks and can do them for a couple of weeks then fall right back into my old habits. I am starting to use the It Works Body wraps. They are all natural and detox. You get measured and then apply the wrap and 45mins you take off the wrap and get remeausured. The inches you lose stay off and wont come back with a drink of water. Water is Encouraged! If you are interested in hearing more about these wraps contact me (removed personal contact information, when you have become an established member with 32+ posts you can then trade contact info privately).

I drink that juice as well as pomegranate juice and for me, it hadn't worked for weight loss, but it did help my pain in my back side.

    Hey Sony

Well, I have just turned 26 years old and I may not be an expert but I think I can offer some advice.

First of all you need to look at weight loss realistically. It is no such thing as a magic pill or craptastic diet that will work...that is without repercussions. It's not the end of the world though!

I was chubby in high school, and maxed out in college at 195, at 5'7. I finally got freaked out after a cousin passed away from colon cancer..and my size 18 pants. I started to pay attention to nutrition labels..and I became more active by joining a martial arts group 3 days a week.

Ok so I can make this super long but I just got off work and would rather not be up typing all day.

Anyways I ended up loosing 50 lbs with basic calorie counting and adding physical activity! It took nearly a year but it was healthy and rewarding either way. I have kept most of it off, but I have fluctuated with my life changes. I have never been back up to that weight and it has been 6 years now. And you can guess, judging from my name I LOVE food. I love cooking, and I love baking...and yes beer/wine....so it's always a battle to cook well and eat healthy...ESPECIALLY in my job. (I work law enforcement..shift work...everyone eats crappy around me and it is sooooo tempting...grr)

Well, high school sucks, and it is even worse when you feel self conscious about your weight. But no matter what don't loose sight of your future. All other things come in good time.

Tell me some more about your self first so I can try to help out. First of all what is a day like for you...keep a food diary or at least write down what you usually eat every day. Estimate how much. Tell me how much and what kind of physical activity you do from walking the dog to pumping iron. Weight and height if you feel comfortable. And a rough schedule from weekdays to weekends. Do you live in a big city, small town, or (edit) nowhere? All important elements to adjust your weight loss to your environment!

What are you doing right now? I think its good to just take a moment to see what we are doing or not doing as thy first step to real change.

I think its also difficult to fit in 6 meals a day plus exercise for some in high school as they are focused on school, friends, drama, family, etc.

Once we know what you are currently doing and see what your schedule allows for and can design a "plan of attack" around it.

I believe that ANYONE can lose weight. Just many don't know how or don't realize what it truly takes to make it happen. But most importantly it is very achievable.
