    Question Weight Watchers?

Have any of you tried weight watchers? If so, and you've been sucessful, I would love to hear your stories! I've been on it for a month and in the first three weeks I lost 11 pounds, but this last week nothing, not a single pound. 11 pounds is great, but I did so much better watching what I ate this week and exercised more, and nothing. So, I'm a little down about this.

    Miss Bee,

You are going to have times you don't lose weight (for whatever reason) but don't let that discourage you. I am on WW right now and the same thing happened to me this week. I think the best thing to do is try to mix up your points. Maybe go two days of eating right on point and the next day maybe use 5 or 6 of your weekly ones. It is important to try to use some of those every week because you don't want your calories to drop *too* severely where you aren't getting enough. Then your body will go into starvation mode.

I see that you are already working out. Maybe try to mix the workouts up. also, maybe watch how much fruit you are getting without counting. I know they include it for "free" now but it still has calories so you want to make sure you're not eating like 3-4 servings of fruit everyday and not counting. Load up on veggies instead Do what little you can and the scale will start moving again.

    Thanks!!
I've actually already cut back on the fruits and some veggies. Was sick over the weekend and found out I have an ulcer. I have acid reflux and the doctor said that most likely the ulcer was caused by my increased intake of acid fruits and leafy veggie. So now, I'm trying to mix in my bland diet with WW. Thanks for the pep talk.
Oh, and I'm going to try to start Zumba this week, I've heard it's alot of fun.

    ZUMBA rocks! (man's opinion).

Watch Biggest Loser on TV....They have the best foods, nutrionists, trainers, physicians and equipment money can buy. Sometimes they lose a bunch of weight and sometimes they lose a lot less.

I assume the same is true for all of us. There will be times for both. It's the end result that matters most.

    I wish you continued success....

I am a lifetime member but went over my goal weight so I just returned. It works but you have to be patient. It is definitely more of a challenge losing weight in the winter

Everything works as long as you reduce your caloric intake to the amount needed by your body to be healthy/yet faciliate weightloss... a doctor or nutritionist can help determain what that magic calorie number is for you. All diets no matter if they are the rasberry bannana nut muffin twinkie diet, cookie diet, shake diet, whatever... are all about taking in less calories.. NO diet will work if its not something you can live with eating day in day out and sticking to... thats why weight watchers is a good option since you can eat normal non restricted food groups but in portion control... thus, eating less calories.

No magic pill, no magic diet plan... weightloss is simple math, giving your body less calories than it needs to that it uses fat stores to obtain the calories you deny it.. its a delicate balance because giving it TOO much less than what your body needs can result in very serious injuries to your health, not giving it enough protien etc, in the calories you are eating can lead to your body not just burning fat stores, but also muscle... which is extremely dangerous since its indiscriminate as to what muscles it chooses to eat...vital organs are on the menu.

Depending on your starting weight, height, overall health/medical conditions a doctor or nutritionist can tell you how many calories would be safe for you to consume and still lose weight... if weight watchers guides you in the right direction, thats great.... most diet plans are successful when they involve variety of foods, support and accountability ( a way for you to track your progress).
Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.

I did weight watchers several years ago and was successful. Unfortunately, I stopped going before I got to my goal weight and thus never reached lifetime status. But it did work, and it taught me valuable weight loss tools. Also unfortunately, I've gained almost 20 pounds since I discontinued weight watchers. What is weird is that my clothes that I've had since then still fit. Hmm....

If it were free, I would do weight watchers again to help me shed these pounds. But I plan to use the tools I learned back then to get back to where I was.
