I have always struggled with my weight since I was in elementary school. I am now 25 years old and decided to go on a journey to lose roughly 80lbs.
I grew up in a very unstable home and turned to food for comfort. I never have been able to get into shape and lose the weight because I was severely depressed. I moved away from home and within 4 months I was down to 190lbs the smallest I can ever remember being. I was only 190lbs for a short time because I found out I was pregnant.
I tried very hard to watch what I ate while I was pregnant and only gained 30lbs and vowed to lose it all as soon as I was able too. I lost all 33lbs within a week after giving birth, but by the following month I began to spiral out of control. I packed on 80 pounds within a few months. I finally realized there was a reason for this unstable period of time and saw a doctor to be told I had post partem depression and that was the reason behind my weight gain.
I have since been on medication for a year and have dropped 50pounds within a short 6 month period. I am stuck now at 232 pounds.
I started a blog on blog spot to share my journey to shed the last 32 pounds before I try to work for the ultimate goal of 160lbs.
I am not doing any magical diet pill, I am doing strictly a 1,600 calorie intake(I went to culinary school and LOVE food). I have a journal I write down every piece of food I put into my mouth, every workout I do at the YMCA, and every workout I do at home. I am on a strict plan and I have already seen a drastic change in my body.
I do a 1600 calorie intake, do 65minutes on the elliptical (roughly 5 miles and 700calories) and a 4 mile walk (roughly 480calories) every day. I try not to take a day off of working out, but understand sometimes the body needs to rest.
In the 3 days I have been doing this I have noticed that I can go longer on my workouts and I am not "craving" food.
If anyone is interested in following my journey please go to Kristin Daniel's Weightloss Journey and follow my journey. I would love support from those who are struggling with the same issues I am.
May we all beat this and become a healthier person in the end!
Hi you girls!
You seem to know a great deal about losing weight, glad that this writing thing works so well on you!
If you want to go a step further, I know a great exercise you can do, it helped me to continue when I reached a plateau too.
What I did was write every single 'good thing' I could think of that I did that day: I skipped a sigaret, I drank 2 glasses of water before breakfast, I walked to the store, I enjoyed my veggie dish ... Those little things meant so much, and I feel very happy doing this. Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do!
