    Default Movtovational Dress?

Hi everyone! Recently, I have lost some weight, and I am 148 (!). I occasinly like to wear dresses, but I was always too self-concious in them. "Can they see how big my legs are?" "Is my stomach showing too much?" Stuff like that. In 4 months, I am going to high school, and I want to show up on the first day in a dress. But the problem is, I don't own any, and I don't want to get one that fits me now, but doesn't in a couple months. So, on to my question: What do you think about a motovational dress? A dress I look semi-good in now, but I could look better in? Something to help me be encouraged to lose the weight and not just drop working out when school ends. Is this a yes or no?

I don't like the idea of buying a dress now that is smaller so you're motivated to fit in it later. Not that the idea behind it is bad, because it is actually a good motivator! But here's my issue, and it's just a practicality thing... you really can't tell where you are going to be in your weight loss 4 months from now. Yes, you can have a goal, but life sometimes happens and there is no guarantee that you will meet it, and there's always the opportunity to even surpass it! So if you buy that dress now - what happens if it doesn't fit you in 4 months because it is too big or too small? What happens if the size is right, but your body shape has changed due to your weight loss and the dress cut is no longer flattering on your leaner body? You would have to go out and get a new outfit anyway.

So here's my suggestion - use your desire to look great for high school as your motivation, and purchase a new dress at the end of the four months to celebrate your success. You want to look faboosh for your first day at high school, and if you work your booty off this summer (literally? lol), before school starts you can go out shopping and buy that beautiful dress that fits your new body perfectly! No guessing games about if a dress you buy now will fit you, or compliment your new bod, in 4 months!

Good job on losing some weight so far! and I wish you the best on your weightloss journey over the summer!!

I agree with KM. How about creating a dress board? You've heard of dream boards?

Look at the Sunday ads or some magazines or online and put together your own collection of styles, colors and designs that you like. You can have that visual to motivate you without spending a dime. When you are ready to buy the dress you will want to be able to try them on and find one that feels and fits just the way you want.

A what board? No, I've never heard of them.

Now, that I think if it, I kinda agree with both of you, but I don't want to let the dress go completly. Around here, if you like something and you can wear it, get while you can. But, the idea of thinking of looking great the first idea of high school, doesn't work for me. I've tried it for a different reason, and I can't get it through my head and keep it there enough to try and use it for a motivator. I need something else.

Maybe for some people a movtovational dress would work out just fine! That would be a great idea! But unfortunately for some people like myself whos weight doesn't fluctuate as much,it wouldn't be such a great idea! I've been a size 14 now for many years, but would love to go down to a size 12...
