I am looking for a supplement to lose weight without the side effects that I had with Alli. Has anyone tried Lichi Super Fruit Pills? What is the difference between those and Acai? Which is better?

    Neither of them work...period.

The only thing that gets "thin" is your wallet.

There is no pill, potion, cream or lotion that's going to help you lose weight and keep it off.

The only thing that has been proven to work on a permanent basis is changes to your lifestyle.

Burn more calories than you consume = weight loss. Consume more calories than you burn = weight gain. It's that simple.

What treatment effects did you have with alli?

Did you know that alli is an OTC strength/version of one of only two "weight loss" pills approved by the FDA (U.S.) in the last thirty years?

Meridia and Xenical are the only FDA approved "weight loss" pills in the last thirty years. Everything else is not regulated and not proven (scientifically proven) to do anything. Therefore they are not approved by the FDA because they cannot stand up to the rigors of the testing or can they back up/support any of the claims they make....none!

    Save your money.

Xenical is Alli (which you've said doesn't work) it's just the over the counter version.

And yes it supposedly does work, but not drastically, and the awful, awful side effects make it very much not worth the effort imo.

None are better. These "diet pills" are a farce. The ingredients are such that they are supposed to boost your metabolism, give you energy, and fortify your body with antioxidents. None of these are proven, and yes, the manufacturers have tried, but there just really is no scientific proof.

Best part is if you read the directions they're meant to be taken in addition to a healthy diet and exercise. And honestly, if you follow the guidance of eating healthy (good, nutrition, lean meals in portion sizes suitable for your body) and exercising regularly, you don't need those silly, worthless pills anyway!

So save your money, start making healthier life choices, and reap the benefits.

    Clare,

alli is not Xenical. It is half the strength of Xenical or the "half the strength version" of Xenical which makes it a very different drug.

With Xenical, patients lost on average 1.5 to 2 more pounds per month than without it. With alli, it's about 1 pound more per month on average.

Xenical and it's half strength OTC sister drug alli are fat blockers and they both work in the lower intestine. They are not absorbed into the bloodstream like most other systemic meds., pills and capsules, that we take. So side effects or treatment effects are limited to loose stools or oily discharge in your stools. This is a you problem and not a problem with the drug because if you read the package insert, for either drug, it says that you need to reduce your fat consumption. If you don't then this can occur.

People pop the pill, don't follow the rest of the directions that accompany every bottle of pills, then blame their shortcomings on the meds.
