    Default Lose weight fast!

    I am trying to lose 20 ibs by July! Do u have any good food and workout ideas? I eat really light food right now, but I am sooooooo hungry! Please tell me what to do.

    You will most likely find an abundance of these sorts of tips when you spend some time looking at other threads in the weight loss, nutrition, or fitness sections! We've been pretty good at having consistent, healthy advice for others seeking to get in shape and drop the pounds.

    Without knowing your circumstances, it is difficult to tell you how to lose weight quickly. First off, are you 20lbs or more overweight? What is your typical diet/activity level like?

    You should NEVER be starving. That will halt your metabolic rate and you're body will begin burning fuel you don't want it to, instead of the fat cells you're looking to get rid of.

    If/when you're hungry, grab something healthy to eat, preferably fresh vegetables. They have the low calories a person seeking to lose weight wants, the vitamins to keep a body happy and healthy, and so much fiber you'll feel more full and stay full for longer.

    Also, make sure you are drinking PLENTY of water to help stave off hunger. Ideally, in a day, you should drink 1/2 of your body weight in fl. oz. at a MINIMUM. So if you weigh 160 lbs, drink at least 80 oz. of water a day to stay well hydrated.

    Hi kmonte85, I am 50ibs overweight! I said 20 cause I don't want to get to skinny cause my husband loves my curves. I just started rumba so hopefully that goes well. I get at least 5 hours of sleep at night.

    How often are you exercising, do you do more than rumba? And how intense is the exercise? If you really want to burn those calories you need to be exercising at a pace where you hit your target heart rate (google it to find out how to determine what that is). Or, you can gauge it by how heavily you're breathing. Could you easily hold a conversation while you're exercising? If so, you need to increase the intensity. And you should be doing this at least 3 hours a week, preferably more, but you need to work up to that if you're new to exercising.

    What types of food are you eating? Change your diet so that you can eat and be satisifed - not either starving, or guilty for eating junk. Lean proteins (poultry, seafood, beans, low fat dairy products), fresh vegetables, and whole grains are a key to weight loss. No heavy dressings, spreads, sauces, or gravies - just enjoy your food for what it is in it's most natural form, delicious! Use herbs and spices if you find your food too "bland" without the extras.

    There is no "fast" way to lose weight without surgery. It took years to put on the weight, so it will take a while to shed it.

    If you change how you eat and exercise (walk around the neighborhood few times a week!) you will feel better and will raise your metabolism which is KEY to losing weight.

    Stay away from fad diets and pills.

    please please stay away from diet pills or starving yourself.
