I just take the normal birth control pill. Once a day tablet, period once a month. I just started taking the Green Tea Fat Burner diet pill. I'm wondering if the diet pill will have any negitive effects on my birth control. If anyone has any information please let me know ASAP so I can stop taking the diet pills before I mess something up. Thanks!

Don't take any diet pills, ever. Period. They don't work. The only thing they make thinner is your wallet. Honestly.

Green tea is very good for you though. Drink a cup every day. When you feel peckish and want to eat a snack, drink green tea instead. Will work better than ANY diet pill. There's no fast-track to weight loss, I'm afraid.

To answer your original question, I doubt the pill will affect your birth control in any way. But that's no reason to continue taking it.

I am in 100% agreement with Mes. If there was a pill that was healthy for you and truly worked, everyone would be skinny now wouldn't they?

    1. Stop taking diet pills - they do not work. Any short term weight loss you see them will diminish once you stop taking them.
    2. Be sure you are getting enough fiber in your daily diet (at least 30 grams of soluble and insoluble fiber). A good way to achieve this is by adding psyllium husks to your food).
    3. Exercise. I'm sure you're tired of hearing this. But it's just a fact. Do it daily, for at least 30 minutes of cardio activity. 3 of those days, follow your cardio with some strength training/weight lifting.
    4. Increase your water intake. And Mes had a great suggestion as far as the green tea. Just make sure you are not using sugar to sweeten it.
    5. Log your food. I use LoseIt and it's an awesome way to truly keep up with the nutritional value (and calories) of what you are eating.

As for birth control, it shouldn't be affected by a diet pill. But, I'll reiterate....... stop taking diet pills. You can lose weight in other, healthy ways.

There really is no way to know for sure. Because diet pills are not regulated by the FDA, there are no interaction experiments done on the interaction between them and birth control.

If you didn't catch that - diet pills are NOT regulated by the FDA, so really - who knows what you're putting in your body by taking them and how it will react with your medication. You might want to stop taking them, throw them in the trash, talk to your doctor, and find a healthier alternative to losing weight.
