Hi! Okay, so I am fifteen years old, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and I weigh approximately 155 pounds. I honestly hate my body. I think my stomach is too big and I think I'm fat and I hate my thighs. I know I'm young and my body isn't done "changing" yet, but I want to do something about it now. I am generally very active but a few months ago I had a serious ankle injury so I gained a few pounds because I wasn't burning the calories I would normally burn. I don't have a petite body type so I know I'm never going to be tiny and I'm perfectly fine with that, I would just like to lose 10 or so pounds. I know I should eat healthy and exercise but I would love some tips on how to get rid of thigh and stomach fat and how to get rid of "love handles" so if you have any advice I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you (:

Thank you so much for your advice! Do you have any tips on avoiding temptations? You see, my mom and sister are both on a low carb diet so eating what they eat will be easy because they are making it anyway! But, my stepdad and brother eat anything and everything so we have a bunch of junk in our house and it is summer break so I'm out all the time and dont always have time to make something healthy so I grab something to eat quickly. Any tips on how to not do that?
Water. Drink lots of water. When you are between meals and feel a craving, and do not have a healthy low cal, no sugar snack, replace the urge with water or a stick of sugar free gum. It won't satisfy your craving the first couple times...but after a while you will train your mind to accept it. When we "snack" it's most often not because we're truly hungry but because we are satisfying an emotional need of fulfillment. The good thing is that your issue seems totally mentally controllable, which is much easier than if you have a medical/physical condition that caused you not to lose weight. It's all about gaining control of the situation. Junk food will always be around in some form. Even if you lived alone, you may work somewhere someday where people are always bringing in donuts, muffins, cakes in addition to vending machines full of sodas and junk food. Now is a wonderful time to gain control and teach yourself that it doesn't matter what is around, what YOU eat is YOUR choice.
If you are on summer break, then that means you should have even more time to make something healthy. Don't tell yourself "I don't have time". Make time. It sounds like you have healthy options in your home because of your mom and sister, so why not choose that instead of the junk?
Once you start ridding your body of the sugars, the white flours (white bread, white crackers, junky cereals) you'll find you don't even want that stuff anymore.
"Be what you're looking for."
"The next time you're thinking of kicking someone when they're down, offer them your hand and help them back up instead."
Start taking the extra 5 minutes or so to pack a lunch. An apple or orange, banana, a peanut butter on whole wheat bread with a little honey swirled in. All kinds of veggies are great just sliced - carrots, cucumber, zucchini, jicama, bell pepper. Get creative and plan ahead a bit.

Cut out all junk in your diet. All cells in your body regenerate every 6 weeks, I think it is. So if you can force yourself to go without sugar and fried foods, you'll actually overcome having a taste for them. Stock up on healthy snacks and fixings for salads. (sounds like you don't have to worry about anyone eating healthy food out of the fridge) Enjoy healthy food. You'd be surprised how enjoyable healthy foods are when you approach it with a positive attitude.
If you dread eating salad for dinner, it's not going to taste good. But if you're excited about all the colors and different flavors and positive then it's going to be a pleasurable experience. Sounds hokey, but it's true.
Thank you all very much! (: I love salad and vegetables and fruits and everything so I have no problem eating them! My meals are almost always healthy and I very very rarely eat fast food, but my meals are generally small so I eat snack between each meal and I'm pretty sure that's my biggest problem. And ideas on healthy snacks I can just grab and go?
I can't eat celery, I can't chew gum, and I can't eat sticky food due to my braces. (I know most people with braces can chew sugar free gum, but I can't because I had to have surgery and all that. I would go into more detail, but there's really no point haha.)
