    heather, welcome...

There is a reason for your determination, something clicked and you feel this is something you WANT to do, you are READY for it

And because of that, YOU CAN do it.....

What is your plan so far
Do we not realise that in order to find a soul
    It doesn't happen over night
if truth were to be told.

Like everything in life that's hard to achieve
    you must believe!

I highly recommend using a site like LoseIt (google it!). Create yourself an account, it's easy and free. You basically put in your info, put in your goal weight, and it tells you how many calories you need per day. Then you log your food daily, every single thing you eat (even if you're ashamed of it!!!) and drink......and log your exercise. Doing this TRULY opened my eyes. I was eating healthy and considered myself a very healther, but I was eating too much even though what I was eating was healthy. At first, I felt deprived because I dropped my calorie intake by several hundred calories per day... but after a week or so I totally adjusted.

Set goals for yourself (realistic ones like = this week I will work out 45 minutes - 4 days per week, and on the remaining 2 (1 day off) days I will walk for at least 15-20 minutes. And I will log every piece of food or drink I put in my body). Also set weekly rewards for yourself. FOOD should NEVER be your reward. Think of things you really enjoy, or want and then at the end of each week when you've met your goals, reward yourself with a day off of exercise to redeem your reward. I did things like, buy a new yoga mat I really wanted (it wasn't expensive...but I told myself I could only buy it if I reached my weekly goals), a R&R day off from work, etc. You can even use fridge magnets and post your weekly reward so you can motivate yourself throughout the week.

You're in the right place. You will get lots of support in your journey here. But the most important part is perserverance, setting your mind to your goals and sticking to it.

    "Be what you're looking for."

"The next time you're thinking of kicking someone when they're down, offer them your hand and help them back up instead."
