I'm working on fiber today. I eat plenty of fruits, but it looks like the key is beans and nuts.
That's awesome girl!!! It sounds like you are most definitely on the right track!

I'm working on fiber too!! My protein is around 16, but my fiber is lowI'm thinking about doing Zen Yoga later, but I can't find any info on it! All it is is yoga, not what I want. .Does anyone know anything about it?
Fiber is a constant battle for me. I can never get what I need. You should try to increase your protein too, 16 grams sounds really low to me. I had 65 grams yesterday and that was a low day for me because I missed breakfast. Generally, I try to get in around 80 grams.
My only solution on the fiber is the clear/tasteless BeneFiber that you can sprinkle on your food. It gets me up there, when I remember anyways.

I promise you ladies if you'll push that fiber up where it needs to be you'll see a noticeable difference. Whether it's through food, benefiber or psyllium husks.......get it up there to a good 30 grams per day!
Cheyenne - 16 is definitely an improvement but keep going, you definitely need more protein than that. Right now, your body isn't getting near what it needs in a day to function and metabolise properly. That will inhibit your weight loss. So what are some ways you can get more protein in your diet? I'm not a big meat eater either, though I will eat tuna if it's fixed right which is a great source of protein, and I do eat chicken occasionally. If you can stomach chicken or tuna, those are excellent ways to get in some protein. Aside from meat try, beans, lentils, tempeh, eggs, nuts..... If you like salad, start fixing some boiled eggs and having 1-2 chopped up in your salad. Also, add some nuts or seeds like pumpkin seeds! Then sprinkle your benefiber or psyllium on top. You can really make a wonderful YUMMY salad with some protein AND fiber.
Here is what I found about zen yoga: Many people use the words zen and yoga together to describe a feeling, a state of mind, an orientation toward yoga that is not usually associated with the yoga practices that have come to us from India. Most often the word zen is attached to a yoga practice to distinguish the types of exercises, poses and stretching from traditional hatha yoga poses. Zen is also often attached to yoga to impart an association with east Asian zen beliefs, habits, orientation and world view. There is no single, formal definition of zen yoga. And there is no one founder. Many practitioners and teachers fuse their individual backgrounds, interests, beliefs and training with Indian yoga techniques and create bybrid blends. One of the guiding principles of many zen yoga practitioners is that building energy is focus, not physical strength or endurance. This is a concept that is similar to prana in Indian yoga, but it is expressed and accessed through zen postures in a much more concrete, palpable way.
"Zen Yoga" further combines the graceful movements of tai chi, the energized breathing of qigong and the relaxed stretching of "Shanti Yoga". The basic principle of Zen Yoga is that the benefits simple breathing, movement and stretching exercises are available to anyone regardless of age, fitness ability or health status. While many modern yoga practices tend toward dynamic poses, Zen Yoga is more concerned with helping people feel better with simple and effective breathing and movement practices.
Zen yoga is very different in attitude and experience to traditional Indian yoga. Like tai chi, it is very gentle, and well suited to helping people prevent ill health.[1].
Not all yoga burns 600 calories per hour. But it's still great for you. Be sure to get in at least 30 minutes of heart pumping cardio today.![]()

Right now, my fiber is 8 grams (but I'm not done eating so it'll get a little higher by tonight) and my protien is....are you ready? (as of now) 37.4 grams!!! I am defiently going to try and get some chopped nuts when we go shopping (can't make any garentees) but I will try! I can handle boneless chicken and I like tuna, so I do try with that, but it's just....a bad feeling if I eat too much meat after a while, so I can't eat it every day. I love salad!! And what I'll probably do later after I do the dishes and everything, I'll boil some eggs for tomorrow!
Thanks for finding that info on the zen yoga! I'm trying to find out how much calories I'll burn during a half hour or so, but no luckSo, what I might opt to do is try doing some yoga. I did about 20 mins of boxing earlier and this morning I lifted weights (5 lbs each side) for a few mins. It's not exactly 30 all together, but I did try!
Thank you for the fiber list! I'm going to copy and paste it to a word document and print it out, and use it when I can! Thanks!![]()
37.4!!! YOU ROCK!!! See how easy it is when you are logging and paying attention to what you're eating?? YAY for you!!!!!
Another thing, consider purchasing a container of whey protein. It tastes much better than the soy. You can mix a scoup in a glass of milk, add in some cocoa or something and get over 20 grams of protein just in that one drink!! It's a GREAT way to boost your protein up.
As for the zen yoga, you'll burn about the same number of calories doing zen yoga as regular yoga as its very little different. So if you did an hour of yoga you'd burn a little over 100 calories. Yoga is great as a supplemental exercise for balance, strength and flexibility. Great job on the kick boxing today. Kick some butt girl!

I honestly didn't think I would get that much today! I was guessing some-where around 10 or 15!
How much does it cost? Is there a great value kind or something if it's super expensive? I just realized something, that if I eat the last Fiber One brownie we have, I'll be eating 5g of fiber! So this weekend, I'm defiently going to try and get more fiber one things! If I'm hungry later tonight, I'll proabably have some peanut butter on bread or something. I just had a cup of watermelon so, I'm a little hungry, but not much.
I'm thinking about doing some yoga poses that I know off hand or doing some of my beginner video, but I haven't decided...I may just do some ones that I know or even try a yoga thing off of TV that I have recorded...
Tomorrow, I'm going to the library. They don't have much there, but they do have fitness and health books. Does either three of you recomended one of yoga or healthy eating or exercise books that I might get (if they have it)? Or something like that?
My intake was 1308, protien- 82.1, and fiber- 13.1. I still need to get more fiber. I'll see about stopping by the store tomorrow and picking up something to mix in a drink. No excersize for me today. I had to take a day off since I got over heated, but I'll be right back at it tomorrow morning. I'm giving myself permission to cut it short if I start feeling weird though. I still have trouble with the recovery time once the heat gets me. Lol. 105* today! And that's temps down from last week.
Day 3 Cheyenne's results;
My exericse was mixed up today, so I have done it in three sesions, but over I burned 224 calories. I did a few minutes of weight lifting, 10 mins of boxing, and 10 mins of yoga. Tomorrow and Friday, I'm not sure how much I'll be able to do since I'll be baby-sitting, but I'm gonna try!
My calorie intake was 875, and my exercise calories were 224, so if you subract those, I had 655 calories today, with 230 more left over. My fiber intake was only 9g, but tomorrow, I am planning on boosting that number up to 15! I know it's low, but with the way handle my body is to take it step by step. My protein intake was 38.4g, a huge improvement from yesterday!
