Wow! First, the tour wasn't in a limo, but a herse! Fun! We started out at the Driskill hotel. I've lived here all my life and had never been in there. I spent a year going downtown two or three times a week and never even knew what I was missing. Lol. Google the history on this place. It's pretty awesome. We met up there and took our own little peek around before our tour guy got with us. As soon as I stepped in I had this lucid trippie feeling, almost like I was on shrooms. Lol. I don't know if it was the lighting, or decor, or if it was just the energy of the hotel, but it was interesting. I wouldn't have been surprised if blood had poured out of the elevator. Redrum! We went by the UT tower, of course. I already knew the history on that. Both my parents are Texas exes so I knew about it being closed because of the Whitman shooting, reopened, and then closed again because students were jumping. Apparently it open again, but plexy glassed off. The only times I got goose bumps was stopping at Shoal Creek and at a diner called the clay pit. They still had thick chain rings in the ceiling of the basement where they chained slaves.
We got plenty of walking around done. I'm beat! It's way past my bedtime, so I'll check in with you ladies in the morning. I'm going to be dragging butt for basketball. Lol. Goodnight
