I'm, what to me, is a healthy weight and have been exercising like crazy for the past couple of months without altering my diet. And well, yes, I have found I am losing a little weight (I didn't really want to lose any, or at least not too much). My queerie is, when I start slowing down again - whenever that may be, will I put on more weight than I began with do you think? And do I need to eat more so as not to lose more? I eat a little fewer, although not by much, than my ideal calories for my size. I am 60+ so I'm not sure I can keep this new level of activity forever!
I love exercising and although I am going at it a bit, or according to husband I am lol, I don't feel I am overdoing it. I don't want to reduce my level of activity until I either have to through health reasons or I just get tired of that kind of routine.
Hey snooks! it's so nice to meet you! I hope it's okay that I just join in here, I am new to the forums.
I've been maintaining a 60+ pound weight loss for a few years now, and I have had all kinds of varied activity levels since then and my weight has stayed within a five pound range from my goal weight. The whole 'weight set point' thing can be infuriating when you're trying to lose, but it's pretty awesome when you're maintaining! My guess is that you won't really gain when you slow down some, unless slowing down is hardly getting out of bed!![]()
I'd say that if you're steadily losing and you don't want to be, you have the right idea in consuming a bit more. But if you've just lost a few pounds and you seem to be maintaining at a healthy weight, I don't see any reason to make yourself crazy with monkeying around with your diet. Just my opinion!
