Instead of logging my food for these past few days I just opted to rest and focus on getting better. I drank a lot of water, I slept about 14 hours a day, I worked full time, and yeah, I had some ice cream. A bit of a failue on my part, but I will just accept it as a failure and I will do better next time. I can't hound myself for every screw up, instead I feel I should acknowledge it, and try and find some good in my failure as well.

I'm still pretty sick in my chest, so that's causing some problems with cardio so I've just opted to try and keep generally active, but not to plan for exercise. Tomorrow however I am walking to work at a fairly brisk pace.

I'm also doing well in trying to find a better balance with protien intake. Anyone have any (cheap..) suggestions for getting protien? I believe I am lactose intollerant, I am getting that tested on the 11th of October, so I try to avoid dairy and get calcium via veggies. I'm thinking of making batches of brown rice and dried beans in advance on Sundays and then re-heating them in the rice steamer for quick meals.

I haven't weighed myself but I will soon and I will also take my pictures and my measurements.

Things that need working on: I need to get the idea of food as a reward or treat out of my head. Especially since I've been sick, I've found myself picking up premade food from the grocery store and even on a few occasions just grabbing fast food because "I'm sick." These are bad excuses and are traps that will hold me back from achieving my goals because if I have these one time excuses, I will find others and let them into my life for other reasons.

    Doing good!

    Default Weekly before pictures

    Alright, it's been one week.

I have changed my focus, I plan on still monitoring my calories but it's the quality of calories, and DRASTICALLY reducing my sugar.

I have taken my pictures for this week and I'm happy, because I'm starting to results in my backside.

    B 40.5" W 37" H 41"

And I'm still at 186lb's for weight.

    Progress!

    Things are going so well!

I'm really increasing my protien and fibre, and I'm feeling so great! I'm weighing in tomorrow and posting pictures.

One thing I've noticed is I am no longer experiencing constipation. I never realized how much of an issue this was until I spent this week not constipated! I FEEL SO GREAT. I'm sorry if it's a gross topic but it's an important topic in womens health! If you're having problems in that area you should really bring it up with your doctor! Once that dialogue gets started it's a lot easier I promise.

I've also really regulated my sleep schedule so that I'm getting 8.5 hours a night, midnight to 8:30, and I really feel fantastic.

    Default Going Strong!

Well, I put up some motivational pictures on the back of my bathroom door and I wrote out a calander of daily activity. I am aiming to get 60 minutes a day combined through walking, circuit training, yoga, and weight training. I am alternating every day but the one thing staying consistant is my daily walk. It's anywhere from 20 - 60 minutes, and it feels great.

I'm really staying on top of my exercise, but I've let my eating slip a bit with Halloween approaching. (it's a really big deal to my husband and I).

I also had a pretty heavy depressive spell these last few weeks so it's been hard to stay motivated, but I AM coming out of it and I think that's mostly due to staying true to the daily exercise and keeping track of my mood.

    I will post pics tomorrow!

Best of luck everyone, I hope this thread is keeping many women like myself motivated to lose whatever amount they are after.

Also, I have no longer made weightloss my focus, but instead am focusing on diet and exercise and will moniter my weight and measurements for data purposes only, I am no longer trying to lose 30 pounds, and that in itself is freeing.

I've also worked through a great deal of personal baggage concerning a sexual assault that happened to me several years ago. Since that tramautic event I have in fact gained quite a bit of weight. But I've also come to learn that that weight was a way of guarding myself, believing that I was attacked out of my personal appearance, and that it wasn't an act of violence and power (which sexual assault is. People aged 3 - 90 are sexually assaulted every year)

Sorry to get a little heavy there but I am coping well with it, and now that I've recognized that hard little peice of me I'm suddenly finding the idea of weightloss very easy to cope with.

Looking forward to hearing how everyone else is doing.

Well done Avitom stickng with a regular routine while depressed. I know from having two children and a parent with bi polar that it is a devastating illness and can be quite debilitating. Anything you are able to do to cope with it will reap its benefits.

Interesting what analysis will turn up, whether it is done with a professional person or simply through our own reflection. You seem to have isolated at least one very important factor as to why you were overweight, and now knowing that, you are more able to combat it and start turning your life around. Keep up the great work.
