A woman asked me what I eat in a day while I was buying groceries earlier.
So I explained it to her.

    Breakfast:

    1 boiled egg
    80 grams of cabbage
    or
    50 grams of part-skim mozzarella
    85 grams of cabbage

    10 am snack: Orange

    Lunch:

    110 grams of chicken
    100 grams of spaghetti squash
    or
    105 grams of tuna
    110 grams of spaghetti squash

    2 pm snack: Apple

    Dinner:
    115 grams of chicken
    110 grams of butternut squash
    or
110 grams of Mahi Mahi fish
    115 grams of butternut squash

    8 o'clock snack: Orange

    > Minimum of two liters (half a gallon) of water
    >> 6 soda crackers a day with only two allowed at each meal.
    >>> Two diet coke/sprite to be-rid of any sugary/sweet craving I may get

So she looks at my cart and sees only the stated items.
Then looks back up at me and says "That sounds like a depressing diet for someone as young as you."

I never realized it but it sort of is.
Mind you, I only stay on this diet for 3 months and then switch to protein shakes for lunch and breakfast after about a week of eating whatever I feel like which usually involves cupcakes, pizza, pasta, ice cream and chocolate.

My diet isn't as strict.. Really, if I want it, I'll eat it. But I do have a calorie limit, and try to limit sweets and unhealthy things. I try to keep my breakfast to oatmeal or whole grain cereals, have something like brown rice and chicken or whatever for lunch.. sometimes I tuna sandwich. And then whatever my husband makes for dinner. Tonight, it was pizza because we hadn't planned like we normally do.. But we try to plan stuff out to eat better.

For me--it's more of a life change.

That is kind of depressing. The rigidity and lack of variety is what makes it so sad. There are other proteins - a million other kinds of fish, and pork and beef if you eat those. Seafood, or non-meat protein substitutes too. There are other vegetables - potatoes, carrots, celery, radishes. And where are your grains? Soda crackers don't sound like whole grains.
Mix it up a little! You can keep it just as healthy as you have described it, while still giving yourself a little choice and something to look forward to.

This is a little depressing. It's ok to have the same breakfast or the same snack every day, but eating the same thing day after day without change... Like Little said, there are a ton of different foods out there that you can experiment with and find what you like.
Look up recipies and look at cook books to find new and exciting things to try. It'll introduce you to foods you've never heard of, and new flavors!

While your diet looks really healthy, it's borning to have it every day. I deffiently recomend changing it up.

The question is, how do you feel about your diet? I find myself eating much of the same diet daily, but until I get bored with it, I actually enjoy it. If you look forward to your meals and feel satisfied afterwards, then who cares what anyone else thinks?

The only problem I see is that you will inevitably tire of it. Instead of switching to protein shakes to switch it up, try researching some different ways to get your protein in. And also, are you tracking your fiber intake? Are you getting anywhere near 30 grams per day? Nutrition is such an interesting topic because there are so many ways of fixing nutritious foods.

    "Be what you're looking for."

"The next time you're thinking of kicking someone when they're down, offer them your hand and help them back up instead."
