    What I do, is I take what I normally take --- but I put half into a tupperware container and bring that half to work the next day (or have it as my lunch). So I don't over eat. Also eat small, healthy snacks every few hours.

    I'm sorry to tell you this, but self discipline isn't something someone else can give you. You have to work at it yourself.

    Think of your goals. Why do you want to lose weight? Is that really important enough to you, or don't you actually care all that much and you are just dabbling in losing? Make a list of all the reasons you want to lose those extra pounds and then make another list of the drawbacks of being overweight. Remind yourself of these every day.

    Try having a smaller dinner plate. It does work in keeping portion control. Drink a glass of water half an hour before eating - that will help curb your appetite. As goosey said, snacking on fruit and veg also helps. When you go out for dinner either ask for a childs portion or take half home with you for another day.

    In the end only you can say "no" to more than you need.

    Nobody can help you to discipline yourself. You need to make clear goal - to lose weight and stick to it no matter what!

    Instead of eating big meals in one day, try eating more smaller portions through out the day it will keep your metabolism up you'll be burning fat in no time.

    These have worked for the husband;

    Put the meal away as soon as you give yourself a plate.
    Don't go out to eat unless you can control yourself at home. Restaurants serve so much food, and it's usually loaded with unhealthy stuff.
    Measure out what the serving size suggests on the box. We eat out of measuring cups in this house from time to time lol.

    For me:
    Every time I eat, I try to eat Zone Diet style, with a serving of Dairy/Meat/produce....It's hard, but it really sets my eating habits into place.
    I am impelled, not to squeak like a grateful and apologetic mouse, but to roar like a lion out of pride in my profession.

    I think you just need to find something that motivates you enough to make you eat healthy. It's usually something else for everyone. In my case, I just like to buy clothes one size smaller than what I actually am and just visualize how good they'd look on me if I lost the extra pounds. Many people find it useful to track their weight loss process and keep the chart somewhere in sight, maybe on the fridge. This way, every time you're preparing yourself a meal you get to see your progress so far, and you're less likely to fall off the wagon. Also, if you can't handle food cravings, maybe you could try and replace what you usually enjoy eating with healthier alternatives and gradually develop a habit of eating healthy. Don't feel discouraged, this is definitely something that takes time.

    basically you stop eating 2 or 3 big meals a day and start eating 6 or 7 small meals a day and of course healthy ones

    you will see the difference

    once your brain knows there will be 6 or 7 meals a day automatically youre mind will tell youre brain " dont eat too much" theres another meal coming soon...

    good luck and a little control helps as well
