    Hey everyone -

I'm currently at my highest weight ever and I'm hoping to lose the weight before it gets worse. I am 20, 5'3" and 130lbs. When I was 18 I weighed 110 and this is my ideal weight, though I would be happy at 115.

I actually have changed my diet and have lost 5lbs since the diet change, but I haven't been exercising.

I am doing the C25k program which I do every other day, and I am hoping to continue increasing my run time after I finish the program. Currently all I am doing is the running every other day, so I am thinking about doing pilates on my off running days. I have very poor core strength so I am hoping this will help. I'm also hoping it makes me look more toned.

On a side note, I have a pretty bad Anterior Pelvic Tilt and I am wondering if pilates will help with this?

So my question is, is alternating running and pilates enough to help me drop the extra 15-20lbs, or should I be adding something else?

You need a holistic approach though what you're doing is not bad at all. You must do some circuit training. I do the P90X program and it works wonders. You can check it out if you'd like or just focus on the following: cardio (walking/running), strength training (weights or you can use your own weight with your workout), balance and flexibility (yoga/pilates), agility/endurance (martial arts, such as tae kwando, kenpo, aikido, kickboxing).

You might also want to join these ladies on here for support: http://www.womens-health.com/boards/...s-team-15.html

Consult your doctor before joining a pilates or yoga class to make sure you'll be okay. There might be some poses that you are not supposed to do because of your condition, so make sure you are informed.

Has anyone tried Body2tone weight loss pills, I’ve had a look at their website and watched the video and the product looks great, I particularly like the way they have approached a weight loss system in that it is healthy and targets a few areas for weight loss, but would like some feedback from others to know if it really works before I buy?

caterpillar. The P90X worked for you? I was going to try it a while back, but it seems difficult (like hard to follow and something you'd never make 90 days through)
~Today, any person can fight the battles of one day It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternity's- yesterday and tomorrow, that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Let us therefore, live but one day at a time.~

diet: 5 small meals a day. Proteins, lean and 3grams each serving. Lots of leafy greens: Spinach
no carbs, no soda, so sugar. Apples, oranges, almonds, greek yogurt
    Water

Exercise!!! 4-6 days in the gym. an hour of weights (muscle mass burns calories!!) alternate days and muscle groups. 6 sets of 25 reps
Cardio: After weights 1hr!! Treadmill incline from 5-14 at a speed of 2.8-3.5 (do you normally run up a huge hill? I know I dont!!) People dont understand that running at 6.5 at an incline of 10 does havoc on your body. If you want to engage your lower body, do what I have reccomended..... and you will feel a difference in your legs. Leg work outs are important, because you have the largest muscle groups!! Therefore they will help to burn more calories post workout. Cardio is your best friend to getting rid of weight, weights will just help tone and make you stronger

It worked and it keeps on working as long as I don't fail to hit the "play" button and really give time for it. It takes dedication and discipline. You can modify it according to your ability and schedule. I really can't do the everyday exercise, so I modified it. The first 2 - 3 months for me was intense then I scaled it down.

Right now, I am in a rut. Became sedentary after an illness and finding it difficult to get back. I'll actually try tomorrow to restart.

I don't believe in complete avoidance. I adhere to small portions, frequent feedings, and a high-fiber diet, coupled with more physical exercise.

More calories burned than calories ingested.

I think so. But you should be persistent.

GnR, I agree with caterpillar. You need to consult your doctor before doing yoga or pilates to make sure it's ok for you.

While running is a rally good cardio exercise, you need to be doing something else. I've never done PX90, so I can't say anything. But if you want to lose 15-20lbs, try mixing it up a little. Say, you still do your running every other day, but on the other days, you still want to keep a good steady heart rate, you do cardio kick boxing or power walking for a half hour or lifting some weights....
Along with exercising, you need a healthy diet. You need high fiber/protein intake, lots of water, and if you're able to-eat 5 small meals a day and you'll be less tempted to snack on unhealthy things. You can still eat sweets, but be more aware of how much you eat and how much a serving size is.
