Hey all! I came across an article on eHow the other day about Ujjayi breathing and how it can help with weight loss. I believe this is part of Yoga or something, but I have no idea. Is this some sort of cult? Scam? Gimmick? I don't know, I have extra weight I can lose, but I just don't know if yoga or breathing can do anything for me....

Any Suggestions? Does anybody here practice yoga or breathing ?

Google has the answers you seek. It's just a breathing technique... how could that translate to being a cult/scam/gimmick? They don't charge you to breathe that way, so the worst that will happen by trying it is that you'll find it doesn't work for you.

Breathing deeply and slowly will lower stress which in turn may help you not want to comfort eat but breathing differently alone won't do a jot for weight loss. Neither will some forms of yoga such as the hatha type. It will, however, increase your muscle tone and balance. Yoga is also really great for relaxation and reieving stress.

wow! what a coincidence! I just read a book by Pam Grout "How to boost your metabolism, lose weight by breathing" and was fascinated by it and wanted to learn more. And now I came across this thread... So, yeah she says you can lose weight by breathing in a certain way, it's about that oxygen burns fat and if your body gets more oxygen, you can burn more fat! Anyone heard about that?

Is there any way a man could ever get more oxygen without using special medical devices?

If you're looking for an easy way to lose weight then forget it! A healthy, well balanced diet and proper exercise is the ONLY way to go without surgery! Don't be fooled by all the hype and marketing that tells you otherwise! They are only out to sell their idea and product and the more it fails the more you buy. Making them more money of course. And all you get is a hole in your pocket and probably added weight to boot!

The further I went in my research the more I get hesitant about this thought about oxygen burning fat. Google shows something called Breathslim when you search for "breathing for weight loss", their approach looks strange but attractive... breathe and stay slim--dead easy! Scientifically it looks pretty good but what I want to hear now is a real review from a person who used it, not some uknown testimonials from their website...

I don't look at any specific products yet, but rather just research the articles and stuff on the net and there are tons that tell you about how breathing properly can help you lose weight. Yeah, it doesn't seem easy at all, but if you think about all the side benefits of these breathing exercises it looks like something that's worth trying. Like they talk about more energy, better sleep, improved metabolism, better stress control. I doubt you can lose significant amount of weight just by sitting and breathing alone, but the more I read about it the more I'm convinced to try this breathing thing..

    Default So many options...

    Hey all,

Thank you for all the helpful posts ! I am interested in these products, namely Breathslim. Honestly, I want something that works besides dieting and exercising because I just can't seem to get it right. I always end up gaining weight or just maintaining. Is there anybody that can provide me more details about these breathing techniques/devices?
