I know exactly what you mean makeup and jane. That's why it frustrates me so much to hear that people are being chastized for their healthy habits by people who simply don't understand the benefits.
I know people too, who tell me that counting calories or keeping a log of the food you eat is obsessive. I'll add that unlike your friends, jane, the friends I have that tell me this are morbidly obese. I simply explain to them, that had I NOT logged my food intake, I would never have seen why I was so overweight even with working out 2-3 hours a week. I was eating 2-3x's the amount of calories that my body needed. I wasn't eating a lot of food, but the food I was eating was so loaded with fat and calories it was ridiculous. Sometimes a person doesn't really realized what they're putting in their bodies unless it's all there, on paper, staring them in the face. Since switching to a healthier diet with the help of a food log, and increasing my exercise, within the last year and a half I have lost 70 lbs. No one can argue with that statistic, and it has all but silenced my doubters.
Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine.
