You can hike or walk up steep hills.
My friend and I are roughly the same age. She is 1 inch taller, and 50lbs heavier.
When I got on the treadmill I put it on a low/mod pace speed and full incline. She did the cto5k and ran the entire time.
My results on the BodyBugg were higher than my friend running.

When you platue or gain weight, you need to either increase the length you work out, or the intensity.
    Walk 20min? Walk 40min or Run 20.

walking is a wonderful exercise. maybe you just need to tweek your routine. add wrist or ankle weights. do intervals, run for a minute and get your heart rate up and then walk fast for 5 minutes. try marching, lifting your knees up high as you go, or walking backwards or how about doing front lunges for a minute and then walking for 5. i have lost over 20 lbs and walking is my main form of exercise. but you also have to increase your muscle strength. sit ups, push ups, mule kicks, lunges and the like. you don't need a gym if a gym is not your thing. good luck!

Don't forget to keep an eye on your diet as well. If you were walking and maintaining your weight, and now you're gaining, you may want to look at your meals and see if you've made some unhealthy food choices recently.
