i really really want to do the dance game for the wii for exercise today but my leg is still really bugging me i think it is sllllooooooolllllllyyyyyyy getting better but idk, the only real i'm seeing any improvment is that when it first started to hurt it would take me forever to find a position that it would stop hurting, but now i can sit a couple of ways that it doesn't hurt and i can lay a couple of ways that it doesn't hurt so i guess it is getting better but i'm getting frusterated that i can't do anything. I did some wall push ups yesterday and my calories were really good, they were like 1400 for the day so i was under by 100 calories, can't remember what the net cal's were but i thought that was good as we had an other family dinner last night as it was my hubby's grandma's 90th birthday but ya other than watching my food intake i can't really do much. i'm gonna go on youtube and see if i can find some stuff i can do from sitting down.....

Now i'd like to say that i'm loving this challenge and seeing how positive everyone is it's great to hear all the excitment and positive attitudes in everyone's posts keep it up everyone were gonna do awsome this month lol.

Yes!! Definitely do. There are LOTS of things you can do in a sitting or lying down position.

make sure you stretch after your dancing gibs. it will help with the soreness. what the chiropractor told me was to heat the sore muscle for 10 minutes first, then stretch it, then ice it down for 20 minutes. i don't know if it cures it but it does make if feel better for sometime. well i got my cardio in this afternoon. i walked for almost 2 hours. that is about 5 miles round and round inside my office building. its either sit and pass time or walk and pass time. gotta go to the secretary of state after work today and then i am making homemade sweet and sour chicken. also gonna work out my buns!!!! lol. hey bd, i wish i could join you on that couch to 5k. but i don't have one of those phones. i am still in the stone age with a flip phone!!!! hey chey.... you back to school? what ya doing? i tried that slim fast stuff a couple of years ago and it just made me more hungry. i didn't find it filling at all. your better off making a homemade smoothie with good for you stuff!

BD, what were your measurements from last month? Where's that pic at girlie?
My health teacher told us about the 5K thing in class today. Do you like it so far?
Take the scale away, lol. It is...if you think you're making progress, and then you weigh yourself a day later and you gained, you feel horrible.

Aeryan!! It's great to see you!

Gibson, I agree with BD on joining a gym for your leg. And during the summer (I'm not sure how Canada does their pools), instead of going to the gym, you can go to the local pool a few days a week and get a workout there also. Have you been to a doctor yet about your leg? And as Cyndie said, be sure to stretch!! I didn't do that when I ran during the summer, and my thighs made sure I knew not to do that again! I can understand about needing to get up and needing to move! I hate that feeling when I get in a routine and I don't do it for a day, the rest of my evening gets screwed up.

Cyndie, I love your walking!! I would love to be able to do that, but I have a short attention span when it comes to working out. Don't feel bad about your flip phone! I have my dad's old Nokia go-phone! And yes, I went back Tuesday. I didn't get my full three weeks But I do have another day off for Martin Luther King Jr. day so I'm looking foward to it! I'm working on my mom not to weigh every day, but of course, she's mom so she knows everything. *rolls eyes* But I'm trying not to get in the habbit not to weigh a lot.
I'm still thinking about trying it, but I'm a little leary now. Did you try the shakes or bars? Or both? I'm looking up recipies for when I can get fresh fruit again (or maybe when I start my garden), but I can't find any with the nutritional info and the one's I do, they sound horrible!!

i did good yesterday. my calories was 1195 with fiber of 27 and protein of 89. i burnt 345 calories with exercise which put me 350 calories under budget. i had two walks one for an 65 minutes and another for 50 minutes and did "i want those buns" for 15 minutes. my back is killing me. i wish this back problem would get resolved. off to the chiropractor tonite. i am also going to work on finding a primary care physician. maybe the chiropractor can't fix my back. don't know. have a great day and what ever it is you decide to do today, stand up straight, tall, and push your shoulders back and down away from your ears. stand proud! and for gosh sakes.... SMILE!

Chey - I posted my measurements at the beginning of this thread. I don't know what my measurements were during the last challenge as I did not participate. I've got to get a full body picture of myself and then I'll post it. My first day of couch to 5k was challenging but great. I can definitely see that if someone stuck with this, you'd be running a 5k before you knew it. For those that don't have app availability, the first week of the program goes like this:

    Week 1:
    Three 30 minute workouts:
5 minutes walking warmup - very brisk pace
    60 seconds jogging
    90 seconds walking
    Repeat 9 times.
    5 minute walking cooldown

This afternoon I have to go get my allergy shot (normally I do them at lunch but got new serum in and have to get them at a different time today) and am not allowed to workout for several hours following a shot. This evening I will skip the gym and take the doggy for a walk. I'm cooking supper for the bf. He's making an attempt (thank goodness) at healthy eating. He cooked baked chicken and steamed broccoli Monday night. I'm fixing slow cooked lemon garlic chicken (boneless and skinless) for supper tonight. And maybe some olive oil pasta and asparagus. Mmmmmm.

How are you ladies doing on your fiber intake?

hey everyone, so i did that dance game yesterday and thought for sure my leg would be killing me but suprisingly it wasn't or at least not any more than usual lol today i haven't done a whole lot but so far i'm doing good calorie wise, tonight were hanging out with our nephews Bruce and Joe. there 9 and 6 so were likely gonna go play something on the wii. i have to clean out the rabbit cages tonight and feed them. then probley a movie or something. so a nice quiet night.

I've tried the slimfast shakes too and did not find them helpfull at all, i found i was starving ALL the time when i tried them.

Cyndie looks like your doing good with your calorie wise and with your workouts and what a great walk that's awsome I hope your back get's fixed up soon for you though, a sore back is not a nice thing to have. so feel better soon.

BD there is no way i could ever do that couch to 5k lol there is no way i would have the stamina but it does sound like a good program to follow mabey someday i'll get to a fitness level that i'd be able to do that.

I looked into the gym membership a little today, (have a friend that works at our local YMCA) and if i qualify for the substady to hlep pay for it i could get as much as 80 percent witch would make me only pay something like 9.58 or so. I think after i get my grandma moved into her new place and things settle down here i'm gonna look into it for sure i think it would be great to be able to go there and do some exercise and swim in the pool too

well went to the chiropractor and he told me no exercise this evening. he wants me to heat and ice my back. then i can go back to exercising tomorrow. i did get in an half hour of walking today. my food calories was 1400 and i burnt 100 calories on my walk which put me 100 calories over. but i went for a walk with the dog for about 20 minutes when i got home so i should be close to breaking even. gotta go ice my back. hope all is going well. that is great news for you gibs on the ymca. i was a member for a year about 6 years ago and i loved it. a boyfriend had bought me a membership. it is to expensive for me now.
