Abdominal exercises don't help you lose fat in your stomach. Thats a myth. Just as with any other part of the body. The only way to successfully flatten your tummy is you lose weight all around, because the places your body takes fat from first can't be regulated- it's random. Good luck!

Well from personal experience and how i train my clients, Cardio 4-5x a week for 45 minutes to an hour will burn that fat right up. Drinking ice water during the day will curb those cravings for food aside. And crunches, knee ups, leg lifts, planks, bicycle cruches, oblique crunches might just do the trick to tone and firm that up. It's not necessarly true that these exercises don't help because if they didn't then i don't think books and websites would have to their viewers. sparkpeople.com offers a variety of exerises to help you figure out would is best as a beginner or advanced.
