Default Nutra System?

Has anyone tried Nutra System or a similar weightloss program? Care to share your experience?

I haven't, but I think they're something like LA Weightloss, Weight-Watchers & Medical Weightloss Centers.
They have a plan where you pay so much a week or every 2 weeks; or, they'll have a bargain where you can loose all the weight you want for $1 a pound.

You're in a medical setting; you got a doctor, nurse and nutrionist on staff and they help you with pre-planned meals for the week. You stick to the meal-plan and they'll help you set up your exercise routine.

Thank you, Jubes.

I'm glad that you mentioned the medical supervision, because I checked the NutraSystem website and it's basically a meal plan where you buy food each month and you can talk to counselors and that's it. There's no medical staff to support you and no exercise program, so you're pretty much on your own. Hubby wanted us to try it, but I was skeptical. I'll be looking at some of the other programs that you mentioned. Thanks again.

HI alibaby

My mom just did this this past summer, she did lose like 15 pounds. Its meals they send you and you have to heat it in the microwave. Its basically portioned out for you. I believe you can workout also while doing this. I know this other woman who did it and when she reached her ideal weight she stopped and started maintaining by working out and doing her own portion control with her meals.

Hi Patricias213.

I was concerned about the 'special foods', but I guess the program teaches you how to control the amount of food you eat, so you try it for a month or two, and then you incorporate what you learn into your regular eating habits. So I guess it can be good in that regard. Thanks for sharing the real life experiences.

By the way, I see that you and JubesInquest are now moderators. Congrats on the promotions.

Thumbs down It's awful

Yeah, I tried Nutrisystem. I guess it's not that expensive considering they send you all your meals for a month, but the food is TERRIBLE and none of it has to be refrigerated or frozen which is extremely creepy, I mean, what's in it?? I had one friend who stayed with it and lost weight but I guess i'm too picky about how things taste. There were a few things that were alright, but I hated a lot of it, and there is a lot of diet food out there I actually like (weight watchers food, lean cuisines, etc.)

Default I tried it

the food is awful, there are better diet foods at the grocerie store, and I dont like the 'freeze dried' feel of the foods, even the bread for the burgers never got old...
Their commercials make it sound great, but it is really hard to stick to.

I did the nutrisystem for 2 months and lost 25-30 pounds. I didn't think the food was too bad in the beginning, but the next month i thought it tasted nasty, because i decided to use regular food and make my own meals, just watch portions and whatnot. The regular food has been working well. I have lost 60 pounds so far, 30 to go!!! Any other questions, let me know! Good luck with your decision!!!

I've also tried nutrisystem. The food is horrible. Jenny Craig worked best for me. The food is delicious and the weight drops naturally. Although Jenny Craig works it's very costly. I would recommend making a schedule of meals and snacks. I've also did weight watchers and that works. The meetings are very inspirational because of everyone's success stories and you learn so many great alternatives to eating and enjoying food. I lost 10 pounds on weight watchers and those 10 pounds made me look so good. Not that I have a problem with self esteem but once my stomach starting going in I had a new outlook. With anything there is hard work and dedication whether it's weight loss, wanting to have your own business, writing a book, etc. You have to be dedicated.
