    hi sourpuss, my current updates:

    - i have a journal organizer where i keep track of my diet.. i set goals of not eating rice and drinking sodas for two weeks... good news is that... i'm keeping it.. i have managed to keep myself without eating rice and drinking sodas for the first week.

    - i eat fish, vegetables, fruit, and drink water and green tea. Green tea has helped me regulate my bowel movement - 3 times a day is the maximum. haha!

    - instead of burgers or instant noodles, i eat fruits, oatmeal, bread with tuna during my night shift sked at work. with fruits alone, i feel full already.

    - with regards to exercise, i'm still keeping up my routine of briskly walking from home to work and vice versa. This makes me perspire and always feel that my heart pumps fast.

good thing is that, i'm maintaing my weight - and not gaining more!

to justkatni - thanks for the site - i love it!

sourpuss and justkatni - i'll keep you posted of my progress... thank you so much!

    Default weight loss

    Hello,
I have been reading your posts and I understand how hard it is. Listen when I tell you that the only way for some (Probably you and me) to lose and keep off weight is to exercise, and make drastic changes to your diet. I started a year ago...YES! a year ago doing this very thing and being consistent is the key. It was hard to be strict day after day and I saw no result...I mean no result until about 9 months into it. That is when the weight began to fall off. In a matter of three months I lost 25 pounds. I walk 3-5 miles 6 days a week and do strength training 2-3 times a week. At least 10 exercises either upper or lower and abs too. Of the 6 walking days I hike two days. I find that I am addicted to the exercise and seeing changes in my body that all of my friends said I would never have because of having 3 kids and being 43. If I can do it you can too. I read womans fitness every month and woman's RX is great too. I strive to always go to the next level with my fitness. I do all of this at home too with 3, 5, and 10 lb. dumbbells and I drive daily to my favorite walking place. I recommend finding a beautiful place to walk that inspires you to do so. I could not find motivation in walking amongst the houses in my neighborhood.

It Can be done and although it might take someone else just weeks to achieve what you might in months. Your body will catch up and it feels so good to be in control of your life. The best is when people start to say, "WOW, you look like you have lost a bunch of weight." My son who came to visit from college was walking behind me and his own girlfriend and said to me, "Mom, you are so skinny" THAT IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Smile thanks dandersohn

i like your post! yeah, you've got it right - i want people to notice that i really lose weight! hahaha

actually, i'm 120 lbs and i want to get rid of the baby fats in my belly. when i started not to eat rice and drink sodas last november 6, i managed to maintain it for 1 month now [dec 6]. and 2 weeks after nov 6, i lost 3.4 - 5 lbs. but i'm not that happy because, it's really hard and nothing really changed in my body except that my pants are not that tight anymore.

As of now, I am used to eating without rice and drinking only water and juices. I always have a bottled water with me and in the office so I will not be tempted to drink sodas and to always feel full.

I also switched to eating fruits instead of usual snacks - watermelon alone can make me feel full.

For now, walking briskly when going to office and back home is what i do to flex some muscles. But then, I know I have to really persuade myself of exercising more than that.

Thanks for the inputs! I really appreciated it.
