Question Question about calories

OK I have always heard not to drop below 1000calories in any diet.

I use jay robb whey protien its very good but very sweet. 1 scoop is 25 grams of protein so I use 1/2 scoop for each shake. The soy milk is 100 calories per cup.

1 scoop whey is= 110
2 cups soy milk= 200
(2) 100 calorie snaks = 200
Dinner per article=300

total is =810 calories

Is that healthy? Should I be adding a few calories more. I have about 140-150 to loose and I was down 3 1/2 pounds in one day. Which is exciting but I dont want to hurt my body either. I have just tried the vanilla soy i am really excited to try the choc this weekend when I go to the store.

Anyone have any ideas.
Thanks
Erica

Etmayflower,

I think that you may be ok since you do not appear to be counting fruit which could be up to 100 calories per piece. I have been making sure that I am including fruit with each shake and vegetables at dinner. If you have not been doing that, try to incorporate some fruit; this will help increase the calories.

Question Questions

As I have been reading, I've noticed that some of you are using a scoop of whey for breakfast and a scoop lunch with a cup of soy with each. How many grams of protein are you getting per scoop of whey? I thought that what you all were doing would be good idea for me since I truly dislike the taste of the soy powder but my whey is 20 grams per serving and that would give me 40 grams of whey and only 12 grams of soy since the milk only contains 6 grams per cup.

Any suggestions as to how I can get all the soy and whey in?

Unhappy I need help!!!

Hi, I'm very disappointed, because I've been on this diet for 3 weeks now and I haven't lost a pound. I'm drinking one cup of soy milk ( the one they sell at Costco) and 1 scoop of Whey protein (Costco's also) only with ice, I don't put any fruits on it, for snack I always have a fruit and for dinner, whatever I cooked for my family, but a very small portion. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I'm feeling very depressed ,it seems like nothing works for me and I have 40 pounds that dont belong to me. Please, I need help.... .

Default Don't get discouraged!

There could be a lot of reasons why you haven't lost any weight. Maybe this isn't the right program for you, you've put on some muscle (this diet is heavy on the protein), or any number of reasons. I think that you should be at least proud of the fact that you have made a commitment to lose weight and eat better. That's an accomplishment in my book! So, hang in there! I'm sure things will start to get better!
