I'm in a program at my gym, and the personal trainer that heads it told us that for a female, you shoud NEVER go under 1200 calories a day. If you go under this you're muscle will be effected.

I am doing the soy whey protein diet and only having the three meals not the additional 2 snacks as recomonded. I am loosing weight fast but only a few days in.

After reading all these messages I think I need to add the two 100 cal snacks as with out them I am only eating just under 900cal. I'm now worried the weight loss will be short lived and body will go into survival mode.

Anyone have any tips on any good 100 cal snacks. Browns no fat yoghurt is only 108 cal but the sugar content is pretty high 14.4 grams.

    Any advise would be appreciated.

if your into snacks, you can buy the 100 cal snacks already proportioned for you this way you don't have the guilt that you ate one too many. Also if you read the articles, if you eat fruit like a peach, banana etc. In can be replaced for the 100 cal snack. And I'm sure if you eat 108 calories you'll still see results. Im on the same diet, just make sure you're doing some sort of exercise

yes, way too little. To lose a pound a week you need to burn 500 more calories than you eat a day. 600-800 calories a day would be starving yourself.

CEBOULD, 600-800 calories doesn't even cover the calories needed to maintain your natural body functions (breathing, digestion, blinking, etc.) and if you add any type of excercise whatsoever you are burning even more calories than that! Not to mention that a happy meal has no nutritional value at all, so you are not even giving your body necessary vitamins and minerals from lo-calorie fruits and veggies. It is true the scale might be going down day by day, but that is due to your body's starvation survial mechanism that breaks down important muscle fibers to get the missing calories needed everyday. I am going to go out on a limb here, but I would say you are definately headed into anorexia, if not already there! My best friend became anorexic in high school and while she dropped over 60 lbs she permanently injured her digestive system and will never be able to eat many normal foods, including many fruits because of their acidity level and the toll it takes on her now fragile stomach. She suffers from ulcers, anxiety, has problems eating normal quantities of food (because her stomach "just can't take it), and will be on medication for the rest of her life because she only ate between 500 and 700 calories a day. I would suggest you look in to some nutritional information and see what you might be headed for because it is a scary road!

I just started this diet today. I have not been able to find the article anywhere. Do you have it where you could send it to me or know where I can get a copy? I tried searching the net, but it just brings me back to this forum.

I personally have gone on a diet of this sort for 3 weeks (650-800 calories a day)and didn't have any problem with gaining the weight back quickly, but I also jogged about 2 miles a day and used lipozene so that I wouldn't feel hungry. I'm not saying it's healthy or suggest anyone doing it by all means, but I didn't gain the weight back right away. It actually took 4 months of lots of taco bell and other fatty dining before I started seeing any weight gain.
