CHANDLERS WISH is on a distinguished road
Default What are you eating and where does it go?

I was a fantastic meat eater, as most men "love their meat" i would be cooking it 5 days out of 7, and not in small quantities. You know the old saying " feed the man meat", or " the way to a man's heart is through is stomach". But the effect it had on me took me from a 10 - 14 very quickly.

Of course junk food, especially when your in a hurry, or can't be bothered cooking, or feeling a bit down, it seems to be perfect but of course that's 30 grams of fat just there.

Now i can't live of of salad alone, no one can and no one would advise it either.

What i learnt to do was portion my food a bit more, drink loads of water.

I was getting married, ah size 14, only 12 weeks to be a 10, congratulations to i did it, and didn't starve or exersise excessively, well walking the dogs for 10 mintues 3 times a week was all i managed really...

I found these foods or eating patterns assisted in that lose and it has to be healthy time wise to, not try to lose it in 2 - 3 weeks and watched the inches come of every week.

Not saying you'll like all of this but:-

I didn't use diet pills, they made me dizzy and irritable.

Meat portions: - never more than 200gram, check the weight on the packet, if there are two pieces and it's 400grams, then you know you can have 1.

Tuna in springwater - on lettuce, with any thing green, celery, cucumber etc. I would add in tomoto, red onion, for colour and added different tastes, but no bread. Then only 1 teaspoon of oil and 2 of balsamic vinegar. Or, soy and lemon juice is better and tastes good.

Boiled potatoes, with low fat sour cream, instead of mashed.

Not a fish eater, so i'd go for prawns in a tomato based sauce, or just with a bit of garlic and spray oil.

Cabbage soup. Ahhh i know, but it's not too bad, as you are only drinking the cabbage water and suprisingly it fills you up and has no calories or fat. I'd drink it when hungry in between meals, not as the celebrities state they do, for 1 week, breakfast, lunch and dinner....

Braised chicken with stir fry veg. If you slowly cook the chicken strips on below low, for say an hour, stiring it, with some water covering it, it melts in your mouth but also is not full of oil, then add small diced vegs to it fresh at the end, so they are still crisp.

So the keys i found were, small meat portions, reading every lable for low fat, keeping the fat content therefore to 20 grams per day, and mixing with next to no fat foods, such as tuna...

You can still therefore have your meat, potatoes, seafood, just cut out the oils, use spray oils, cut out the butters, cream and mile and use low fat sour cream, the soy and lemon as a dressing is great.

I worked 17 years in Management of restaurants so you can imagine, i have always have to be mindful. Only once did i get to size 14 and well, bad timing before a wedding!~!!

Hope some of these tips help if you need a few inches of......
