I'm wondering how I can tone up my body without loosing a whole lot of weight. I have a little bit of fat here and there that I'd like to get rid of on my lower body as I'm already small on top. I'm 5'6'' and 145lbs and have a large frame, there is no way I could weight 120 lbs without being sick. Sort of oddly shaped, I have a tiny waiste and an hour glass figure but my legs and hips are wayy bigger. I'm wondering how I can just tone up and improve my overall health? Is a gym membership and some intense working out what I need or just more daily things like walking and snow shoeing. Any comments would be appreciated, thanks

If you want to tone up a little without losing too much I'd suggest getting an aerobics dvd or pilates or yoga and doing that for 30-60 minutes a couple of times a week. Walking would be good too.
Also, I forget what it's called but it's like a disc.. you stand on it and twist. It's good for the tummy and lower body. I think it's called a Body Twister. |

I've recently started doing winsor pilates and after doing it for two weeks regularly, I have noticed my arms, legs and tummy area toning up. You can buy the dvds from their website or see if your local library has any? It's all about toning up and building core strength. But the four things they use through all their dvds are a circle rubber thing for your arms, a rubber band to stretch, a gym ball and small weights.
On another note I have a friend who's problems spots were her thighs and bum area. And for over 6months all she did was go for walks with lots of hills and she's half the size she use to be now. I think you have to see what suits you, your budget and your lifestyle. Hope that helps. |
