Default Moral Support for Losing Weight

Hi there, I am 24 and have been married for about 6 months now. I have noticed that since meeting my husband and getting married, I have gained weight. I keep getting told that I am just happy in love so it's all "happy" weight. But it's reaching the point where my clothes are getting tighter and I am finding myself becoming very depressed about my weight and always thinking about how to lose weight. So to take matters into my own hands...

I have been watching my food intake and have started doing winsor pilates (doing the 30 day tracker, etc) everyday. I have always needed moral support from another person while exercising to help me keep at it but now with busy work times it's becoming rather challenging. While everyone says that they understand what I am feeling, I do feel alone but am try very hard to push myself and keep up with the exercise and eating healthy.

I was wondering if there was anyone else out there in the same boat as me and would like moral support or encouragement to keeping tracking on?

Well I know what that is like, I'm 23. I am not married yet but I am very busy with school (but I am almost done!!). I have lost about 60 pounds all together, but I have about another 30 to go. I am at a stand still it seems. I do everything that I can, but its not always easy due to my schedule. I try to work out at the end of the day, but by the time that rolls around I am so tired, I don't feel like doing anything but going to bed.

I would be happy to be of support to you! Maybe even share tips or whatnot, especially since these last 30 pounds don't seem to want to leave!

Hi bluesapphire315, how are you? Thank you for your reply.

Sounds like you are a busy girl. I use to be like that last year when I was at uni. You are doing very well with all the weight you have lost. I hope you reward yourself for your achievements so far. You should be very proud of yourself! Well done on your journey so far.

What time of exercise are you currently doing? What did you do to lose the 60 pounds?

I've tired weight lose pills, exercising for over an hour every night and even cutting back on food and nothing use to work. All it use to happen was I would get so worked up on losing weight and stress myself out.

Right now I am doing the winsor pilates program. (two days is core, toning stuff and three days is dancing, cardio workout) It's about 20mins every night and I do it right before bed. Not sure if it's the best time for it. But by the end of it I am so exhausted that after my shower, I just fall off to sleep. My aim is to go back to my normal 50kgs eventually.

At the moment with my meals, I have cut back on all junk food and soft drinks. For dinner, I cut back on my carbs and have a small portion. I also try to have dinner as early as possible. And if I get hungry later than I have a cup of miso soup.

Also I found that writing things down helps. The program gaves a 30 day tracker booklet where I have to write what exercise I have done, what foods and simple questions like how I feel today, goal for tomorrow etc. I found that writing it down makes me sit back and really think about what I have done etc. Plus I think it's important to count the things you do without trying e.g. taking the stairs, walking an extra few miles.

Have you tried exercising in the morning?

Currently, I don't find myself at the gym too much, due to being in class all morning into the afternoon or clinicals all day. I run all over the place in clinicals, so by the end of the day I am so tired. When I feel like I am stressed out and cant take it, I will go for a walk and get some fresh air.

How I lost the 60 pounds that I have lost so far was for me to stop eating so much candy. I could eat a bag of candy and not even blink. I didn't think anything of it...then I was clothes shopping one day and I was up to a size 20. I was so discouraged that I needed to do something, so I altered my diet quite a bit. I eat something every couple hours (like 2 peanut butter crackers) just to keep the metabolism going. I pay more attention to what I eat, for example I will notice that I didn't eat much fruit during the day so I will have some fruit, etc. I do not deprive myself. If I want a chocolate, I have it but I will have 1 or 2 pieces, but no more than 2 pieces (i try to go for the dark chocolate when I do have it). If I want a piece of cake, I have it...just a small piece. I drink about 64oz or more of water a day, etc. That has been what has brought me from the size 20 all the way to a 12/14. If I lose 30 more pounds, I think I could be a 10/12.

I think the reason why I am not losing as much weight is because I am stressed out all the time, I don't get as much sleep, and I am not at the gym as much. I am always running around though.

I just hope that it starts coming off again soon!!!
